On December 25th, 2018, at the Conference room of the Faculty of Agronomy, the Organic Agriculture Research Group of the Faculty of Agronomy organized an Advisory and Orientation Council Meeting for Organic Agriculture Research and Development in Vietnam with the participation of consultants from Vietnam Organic Agriculture Association (VOAA), Tue Vien Organic Farm and Vietnam National University of Agriculture.
Opening of meeting, Prof. Dr. Pham Tien Dung, research group leader, emphasized the importance and necessity of organizing this event, a venue for open discussion on professional issues among team members to promote scientific research activities of the group. He expected that in the working session, the participants would openly provide advices and orientation for a sustainable development of organic agriculture in Vietnam.

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Van Hung from VOAA, the Chairman of the Advisory and Orientation Council, the meeting had an intensive discussion with various valuable opinions and recommendations for future research on organic agriculture in Vietnam.
The Advisory and Orientation Council concluded that the research group should focus the following contents: (i) Development of organic agriculture production chains and links among production stages; (ii) Research the link between production, processing and consumption particularly on processing organic products; (iii) Focusing research on input sources for organic agriculture production including soil, water, fertilizers, and seeds; (iv) Research on scientific basis to build relevant procedures of fertilizer application, nurturing and pest control for each type of organic products and research to create biological products for organic farming; (v) Promoting research on the linkage between processing and markets to ensure economic efficiency for organic agriculture producers.
