On September 30, 2019, at Vietnam National University of Agriculture (VNUA), Prof. Dr. Tran Duc Vien welcomed Mr. Yoichiro Aoyagi, member of Japan's House of Representatives, and the Japanese delegation to visit and work with Vietnam National University of Agriculture.

Participating in the welcome meeting, there were also Dr. Vu Ngoc Huyen, Deputy Party Committee Secretary, Director of the Center for Manpower Supply and other center staff. Chair of University Board of Trustees, Prof. Dr. Tran Duc Vien, expressed his gratitude when the Japanese congressman and delegation visited the university. On this occasion, Prof. Dr. Tran Tran Duc Vien gave a brief introduction on the university history and the close relationship between VNUA and Japan; he also highly evaluated the supports that Japan has provided to the university over the past years.

Mr. Yoichori Aoyagi thanked Prof. Dr. Tran Duc Vien for the warm welcome and expressed his wish about the continuation of collaborations proposed by Dr. Vu Ngoc Huyen during his visit to Japan in July this year. In the discussion, both parties showed their concern with learning and working opportunities of the younger generation, focusing primarily on agriculture sector in Japan. Mr. Yoichori Aoyagi also focused on how to be able to well develop foreign language skills for Vietnamese students and help them learn Japanese culture before coming to Japan to work, which will help ensure more job opportunities for them. After that, Prof. Dr. Tran Duc Vien also discussed about the establishment of a Japanese language and culture institute at VNUA as proposed by Dr. Vu Ngoc Huyen on his business trip in July to be able to provide more supports to students who want to work in Japan.

In this meeting, there was also Huderee, an organization which consist of many individuals with many years of experience representing the Japanese government in Vietnam. Huderee also affirmed to introduce VNUA’s students to Japanese businesses so that these enterprises will provide them with job opportunities with good remuneration.

At the end of the discussion, Prof. Dr. Tran Duc Vien and Mr. Yoichori Aoyagi agreed that the two parties need to strengthen their cooperation in human resources and agriculture and try their best to provide more support to students and the young generation so that they have more opportunities when studying and working in Japan. That will ensure that they will return to Vietnam to start their businesses in the field of agriculture, which is one of the strengths of Vietnam, after obtaining enough knowledge, experiences and capital from their stay in Japan.   

The two parties will continue promoting their collaboration in the discussed contents and integrating their common points of view in order to acquire more meaningful achievements in the near future.
