Advanced Financial Economics

INTRODUCTION

Undergraduate education program: Advanced Financial Economics

In the context of international economic integration, Vietnam's economy has been catching up with the international trend. Many foreign enterprises have come to cooperate and invested in Vietnam. Thus, there has been a demand for high qualification and skills workers especially in financial industry. Vietnam National University of Agriculture has launched a new undergraduate education program named Advanced Financial Economic (AFE) to prepare students with knowledge and skills specifically meet the demand of the labor market.

This Advanced Financial Economics Program curriculum has been designed and developed by the Faculty of Economics and Rural Devlopment with reference to and benchmark against related programs of prestigious universities in the region and around the world such as University of Kentucky - USA and University of Sydney - Australia. The program received the first cohort in 2017. The annual intake is around 50 students.

Degree name: Bachelor in Financial Economics (Advanced Education Program)

Program code: 7310109E

Type of program: Full-time

Program duration: 4.5 years

Language taught: English

Total required credits: 156 (144 compulsory credits + 12 elective credits)

CURRICULUM

The program uses English as a means of teaching and learning. Advanced teaching methods have been applied by program lecturer and instructors to encourage students study, improve access to modern knowledge, develop career skills and form consciousness, responsibility for career.

Program Objectives

Advance Financial Economics program provides graduates with strong expertise in the fields related to finance and economics; capable of working in domestic and international agencies and organizations; being able to think independently, creatively, to discover and to solve new challenges in economic and financial fields; have the ability to develop careers, to pursue higher learning opportunities and to work at management positions in economic and financial fields.

Students who study Advanced Financial Economics will have opportunity to learn in a dynamic environment with many interesting practical extracurricular activities to improve English, communication, teamwork, and presentation skills. Students also have the chance to interact with dynamic lecturers and international students from countries such as Japan, Korea, Australia, China ... through student exchange programs and field trips.

Career Opportunities

Students after graduating from bachelor of Advanced Financial Economics can work in the following positions: managers, civil servants and officials in the state management agencies of economics and financial from local to central level; Researchers and lecturers in economics and finance fields; Financial management staff in establishments and economics units in both domestic and foreign countries; Staff in domestic and international non-governmental organizations…

Introduction to Faculty of Economics and Development

Faculty of Economics and Development have 7 years of experience in developing advanced programs teaching in English. More than 90% of lecturers of the Faculty of Economics and Rural Development graduated from high ranking universities in Australia, Japan, Germany, Belgium and Thailand ... which are the foundation for the integration linkage to help domestic students communicate with international lecturers and students.
