6. Plan of studies
The Double Degree program will provide students with an opportunity to complete part of their first-cycle studies at a host university and to obtain a Double Bachelor Degree under the conditions which apply at both universities.
1. Student Eligibility and Participation Requirements
1.1. The Double Degree option will be available to students of the KNU Major in Plant Biosciences who are enrolled in the Bachelor of Agriculture program. They may apply for participation in the Bachelor of Crop Science (Advanced Education Program) offered by the Faculty of Agronomy at VNUA.
1.2. Likewise, the Double Bachelor Degree option will be available to VNUA students who are enrolled in the above Bachelor of Crop Science (Advanced Education Program) may apply for participation in the Bachelor of Agriculture program offered by the KNU Major in Plant Biosciences.
1.3 Students participating in the Double Degree program will maintain their enrolment at their home university during the entire mobility period at the host university.
2. Mobility Period and Study Program
2.1. The Double Degree program will take 4 years for KNU students and 4.5 years for VNUA students to complete.
2.2. Double Degree students will begin their degree academic course at their home university. Prior to their Double Degree studies abroad, they will have earned 72 Korean credits for KNU students and 79 credits for VNUA students.
2.3. KNU students will have completed their study period at their home institution with a GPA (Grade Point Average) that is greater than 3.0 at the time of application. VNUA students, in their turn, will have achieved a Vietnam national average grade of 3.0 or higher.
2.4. The integrated exchange period may commence in Spring (March) or Fall (September) semester of each year. The mobility period runs for one academic year. KNU and VNUA will cooperate and facilitate students study within one year.
3. Tuition Fees and Other Financial Regulations
3.1. Double Degree students will be responsible for their personal expenses, such as cost of living accommodation, travelling and healthcare.
3.2. They must have valid healthcare insurance for their host country for the whole duration of the mobility period. Proof of such healthcare insurance must be provided in English.
3.4. Double Degree students will be exempt from paying tuition fees to the host institution but they will pay the general student union and enrolment fees applicable to local students.
3.5. Students will not be exempt in the case of penalty fees, as defined by the regulations of the host institution.
4. Degree Award and Diploma Supplement
4.1. Credits obtained at the host institution will be recognised by the respective Boards of Examiners and transferred to the home institution at the end of the mobility period. VNUA will effect credit transfer according to the VNUA grading system whereas KNU will use their own standard procedures for credit transfer.
4.2. Participating students are awarded the Bachelor Degree of the partner university if they have successfully completed the study plan.
