Objectives of the project:

Objectives of the project:

1) Determining the drought levels for agricultural production in Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan provinces according to three climate change scenarios for Vietnam in 2016 in the South Central Coast;

2) Identifying appropriate land use solutions for drought response in the South Central Coast;

3) Developing models for the application of land-use solutions that respond to drought with economic efficiency of at least 20% higher than that of the traditional methods of people in the arid South Central Coast;

4) Completing the cultivation process of some main crops in the study area accepted by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to be applied in production

Research contents:

1) Determining the dry areas according to three climate change scenarios for Vietnam in 2016 in Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan provinces.

2) Assessing the situation of agricultural land use and proposing the transformation of crop structure in response to climate change scenarios in 3 districts of Ham Thuan Bac (Binh Thuan), Ninh Hoa District (Khanh Hoa) and Ninh Phuoc district (Ninh Thuan)

Summary of research results:The overall objective of the project is to study the impact of factors including land, labor, capital and education on the income of farm households in the central region of Vietnam, from which propose solutions to improve income for farmers in the study area.The research did: (1) Summarizing basic theoretical and practical issues about the impact of resources on household income such as concept and classification of resources, calculation and factors affecting household income, generalizing the situation of resources and income of Vietnamese households, experience of raising income for households in some countries and localities in Vietnam ;(2) revealing the real situation of resources land, labor, capital, education and income of farmers in the Central region throughcase studiesin 3 provinces namely Thanh Hoa, Nghe An and Ha Tinh to assess the impact of these factors on the income of farmers in the study area;(3) Proposing orientations and solutions to contribute to raising income for farmers in Central Vietnam.
