Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy introduced a brief overview of VNUA as well as its achievements in training and scientific research during recent years. In response, Dr. Stanford Blade shared information on the history, scale of higher education, and postgraduate training areas and cooperation programs at the University of Alberta. Based on the information shared, the two sides agreed to promote cooperation via i) signage of a MoU; ii) 1-2 semester exchange program for undergraduate and postgraduate students; iii) 2+2 modelled joint training programs; iv) short term agricultural training courses for University of Alberta’s students; and v) joint research cooperation of the genetic resource collection and breeding pigs, environment, food technology, etc.

Mr. Blade revealed his concerns and promised to support some the sectors, including agriculture.

\r\n

The visit was an initial step to further discussions on joint cooperation in training and research while establishing a formal relationship between the two universities through the signing of the Memorandums of Understanding.
