On the morning of July 25, 2025, Vietnam National University of Agriculture (VNUA) hosted an exchange and discussion program on learning and scholarship opportunities in South Korea between the delegation from Honam University and students from the Faculty of Tourism and Foreign Languages, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, and the Faculty of Accounting and Business Administration, VNUA. The program was an opportunity for VNUA students to explore numerous scholarship opportunities at Honam University.

Overview of the event

The Honam University delegation was led by Dr. Park Sang Cheol, President, together with Dr. Lee Sung Oh, Head of the Planning Office; Dr. Son Wan Yi, Head of the International Cooperation Office; Mr. Jeong Seong Ik, Officer at the President's Offic; Prof. Dr. Quan Wen Hua, Coordinator of the International Cooperation Office; Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy and Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Hoa, Assistants of the International Cooperation Office; and Dr. Shim Dong Ho, Expert.

From Vietnam National University of Agriculture, participants included Dr. Nguyen Tat Thang, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Foreign Languages; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Ngoc Ninh, Vice Dean, Faculty of Tourism and Foreign Languages; Dr. Tran Le Thanh, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences; Dr. Nguyen Trung Thong, Vice Dean, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Anh Tru, Vice Dean, Faculty of Accounting and Business Administration; and more than 120 students from the Faculty of Tourism and Foreign Languages, Faculty of Mechanical Engineerin, and Faculty of Accounting and Business Administration.

The event took place in a warm, open, and enthusiastic atmosphere at the Nguyet Que Hall of the university. Prof.Dr. Quan Wen Hua, on behalf of Honam University, gave an overview of the Honam University, its international training programs, and particularly its scholarship opportunities for international students. This practical information received great interest, especially from students majoring in Tourism, Business Administration, Automotive Engineering, and English Language, the fields with strong potential for cooperation between the two universities.

VNUA emphasized the importance of international exchanges “International exchange is a vital bridge to help students develop global thinking, increase cross-cultural understanding, and broaden career perspectives. Through exchange programs and partnerships with international institutions, we aim to motivate students to improve their foreign language skills and actively participate in overseas study and training programs.”

Many VNUA students expressed excitement about that first opportunity to meet and interact with Honam University professors at VNUA. They showed great interest in the programs offered and asked insightful questions during the exchange.

The cultural exchange program between VNUA and the delegation from Honam university left a positive impression and contributed to advancing international educational cooperation, creating a dynamic and modern learning environment for VNUA’s students. It also marked an important stage following the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between VNUA and Honam University on May 24, 2025, which aimed to implement international training collaboration, student exchange, scholarships, and the development of new joint academic programs between the two universities in the near future.
