On the afternoon of November 26, 2025, in Hanoi, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Vietnam and the Korean Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (KOCHAM) organized the “Korean Business Community Social Responsibility (CSR) Day”. First launched in 2015, the annual CSR Day reflected the commitment of Korean enterprises operating in Vietnam to social responsibility, and served as a bridge connecting talented Vietnamese students from disadvantaged backgrounds with Korean companies.

In 2025, six students from Vietnam National University of Agriculture (VNUA) with outstanding academic performance despite difficult economic circumstances were selected among 94 scholarship recipients nominated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Department of External Relations, Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Labour–Invalids and Social Affairs, and the Hanoi People’s Committee.

Delivering the opening remarks, KOCHAM Chairman, Mr. Ko Tae Yeon emphasized that, “The CSR scholarship is not only a financial support but also a message of trust from Korean enterprises to Vietnam’s young talents. You are the vital link between Korean businesses and Vietnamese society.”

The Korean Ambassador to Vietnam, Mr. Choi Young Sam, “We firmly believe in the potential of Vietnamese youth. These scholarships are a clear testament to the strong confidence Korean businesses have in Vietnam’s young generation”. He noted that in August 2025, General Secretary To Lam paid a State Visit to the Republic of Korea at the invitation of President Lee Jae Myung. The historic visit marked a new chapter in the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries. Korea would continue accompanying Vietnam in its goal of becoming a high-income nation by 2045, and CSR programs remained an important means of strengthening long-term cooperation and connecting future generations of both nations.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Ngo Le Van, affirmed that CSR initiatives by Korean agencies and enterprises over the years, including scholarships for economically disadvantaged students, were highly meaningful. Scholarships awarded since 2015 had created better opportunities for Vietnamese students to study, strive, and potentially work in favorable environments within Korean companies. He added that approximately 45,000 Vietnamese students studying in Korea today served as cultural ambassadors strengthening ties between the two cultureas and the two peoples.

Representing the scholarship recipients, Nguyen Dang Tra My, a student majoring in Food Technology, expressed heartfelt appreciation, “On behalf of the students, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the VNUA Executive Board, the Student Affairs Office, and the Faculty leadership for supporting me to receive the CSR 2025 scholarship. I also extend my thanks to KOCHAM and especially to F-ONE GLOBAL FOODS, the company sponsoring my scholarship. This support not only eases our financial burden but also motivates us to continue striving in our studies and personal development. I promise to turn this valuable support into academic effort and positive contributions in the future, worthy of the trust placed in me by my teachers, family, and sponsors.”

The “CSR 2025 Scholarship” was among dozens of scholarships awarded annually to VNUA’s students through partnerships with more than 200 organizations, institutions, and enterprises. Beyond financial support, the scholarships served as an important source of encouragement, particularly for students facing economic hardship, enabling them to focus on their studies, actively engage in scientific research, and participate in community activities, thereby fostering holistic student development.
