Amid the joyful atmosphere welcoming the nation’s traditional Lunar New Year, the Trade Union of the Faculty of Tourism and Foreign Languages, Vietnam National University of Agriculture (VNUA), in collaboration with the Student Association Branch of the faculty, organized the Spring Festival program “SPRING CALLING.” The event created a warm and cheerful Tet space while spreading the spirit of international integration associated with the fields of tourism and foreign languages.

Spring Festival Program – SPRING CALLING

Attending the event were faculty leaders, lecturers, representatives of sponsoring organizations, and a large number of students from the Faculty of Tourism and Foreign Languages, VNUA. Representing the Faculty Board of Management was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Ngoc Ninh, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Foreign Languages. Representing the Faculty Trade Union was Dr. Vu Thi Ngoc Dung, Chairwoman of the Faculty Trade Union. The program also welcomed M.A. Pham Huong Lan, Head of the Department of General English, along with other faculty lecturers.

The program was honored to receive M.A. Nguyen Duc Duong, Standing Committee Member and Head of the Sports Department of VNUA’s Youth Union.

Representatives of sponsoring and partner organizations included Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung, Director of the Office of IELTS Mentor Education Co., Ltd.; Mr. Dao Van Hoang, Director of Dai Nam Foreign Language Training Co., Ltd.; and Ms. Nguyen Thi Quyen, Manager of the Jclub Experimental Language Center. Notably, the program also featured the participation of American volunteers from Jclub Center, contributing to a vibrant and friendly atmosphere of international cultural exchange.

The program opened with the musical performance “Tết ơi Tết à” (“Oh Tet, Oh Tet!”) presented by members of the Student Association Branch of the Faculty of Tourism and Foreign Languages. The lively and joyful performance set an emotional and energetic tone for this year’s Spring Festival.

In her remarks, the representative of the Organizing Committee emphasized that SPRING CALLING was not only an occasion to recreate the atmosphere of traditional Vietnamese Tet but also an opportunity for lecturers and students to interact, experience, and bond in a shared cultural space, thereby fostering solidarity and nurturing the identity of the Faculty of Tourism and Foreign Languages.

A highlight of the program was the introduction of Lunar New Year celebrations in several countries around the world, helping participants gain deeper insights into both similarities and differences in New Year traditions in countries such as China, South Korea, Singapore, and Japan. This segment also highlighted the distinctive values of Vietnam’s Lunar New Year, a traditional festival deeply rooted in family bonds and reunion.

In addition to stage activities, the Tet booths of the Faculty of Tourism and Foreign Languages attracted significant attention from lecturers and students. Decorated in traditional Vietnamese Tet style, the booths created a warm and intimate spring atmosphere. The Faculty also introduced and sold a variety of outstanding agricultural products from different regions, contributing to the promotion of Vietnamese agricultural products and spreading the spirit of appreciation and support for domestic goods.

A Multicultural Connection Space at the Spring Calling Program

At the end of the event, the Organizing Committee invited delegates, lecturers, and students to take commemorative photos and visit the Tet booths. The SPRING CALLING Spring Festival concluded in a joyful and uplifting atmosphere, leaving lasting impressions and enriching the spiritual life of lecturers and students of the Faculty of Tourism and Foreign Languages during the early days of the new spring.
