Israeli Culture Day at Vietnam National University of Agriculture

On 23 November 2015, an Israeli Cultural Day, as part of the Israel Cultural Week in Vietnam, was held by Vietnam National University of Agriculture (VNUA) in collaboration with the Embassy of Israel in Vietnam to introduce its diverse and colorful culture to students.Attending the event , from Israeli side, were Ms. Meirav Eilon Shahar, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Israel in Vietnam together with her staff, from VNUA side, were Mr. Nguyen Xuan Trach, Vice President, Ms. Do Thi Kim Huong, Secretary of the Youth Union, Ms. Le Thi Bich Lien, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Office, Mr. Nguyen Tat Thang, Deputy Director of the Political & Student Affairs and more than one thousand of students.

At his opening speech, Vice President Nguyen Xuan Trach sincerely thanked the Embassy of Israel in Vietnam for supporting VNUA’s staffs and students to study and take part in internships in Israel. Returning from Israel, they all had good impressions on the country and its people. He emphasized that the Israel Cultural Day helped strengthening the friendship between the two sides, as well as deepening their understanding of the history, culture and the outstanding achievements of Israel.

With a population of just over 8 million people in total area of 22.145 km2, poor resources, and severe climate conditions, Israel has risen to become a developed country with advanced agriculture and modern technology, and known as a "Start-up Nation" especially. Its marvelous development as a precious lesson created a strong motivation for students, the young generation of Vietnam, to try their best to study and apply learnt techniques to the development of the country, particularly the in agricultural sector.

An interesting part of the "Israeli Culture Day" at VNUA was the performance of an Israeli traditional musician, Mr. Tal Kravitz. This was his first performance in Vietnam. All those who attended the event experienced various emotions through enthusiastic, close, and very charismatic performance of the artist.

The Israeli Culture Day at VNUA took place lively, making a strong profound on attendees because of the sincere gratitude, enthusiasm and hospitality of the two sides.

" The artist Tal Kravitz was born in 1974 in Israel. He was a versatile traditional musician of Israel. After graduating from the Israel Conservatory Tel Aviv, Tal Kravitz began studying traditional Middle-Eastern music and ethnic singing. He has performed and taught traditional music of Israel in various regions of the world. Participating in the Israel Cultural Week 2015 in Vietnam, Tal Kravitz will perform at several universities in Vietnam including Vietnam National University of Agriculture, Da Nang University of Technology, Hue Academy of Music, Vietnam National University – University of Science, and Bac Giang Agriculture and Forestry University from 23 to 27 November, 2015".
