Strengthening international cooperation is always one of the top priority tasks in the development strategy of Vietnam University of Agriculture to become a prestigious and high-quality training and research university at international level. In the process of construction and development, the University has constantly focused on the quantity, quality and efficiency of the international cooperation activities. The international cooperation activities of VNUA are very diverse, from establishing relationships with many universities and international organizations through information exchange, signing memorandums, exchanging and training programs for staff and students to developing various bilateral, multilateral cooperation projects, and coordinating with other organizations to organize international conferences and seminars.
In the last 10 years, VNUA has welcomed approximately 620 delegations with more than 3,000 international guests to visit and establish collaboration and work on bilateral/multilateral projects/programs, training or expert exchange programs in 2018. Since then, the University has signed about 150 Memorandum of Understanding to implement the staff/student exchange, academic exchange program and training and scientific research collaboration, etc. International partners have granted thousands of long-term and short-term scholarships, and received more than 2,000 lecturers and staff for working and studying, in which nearly 300 lecturers have completed their doctoral/master's training programs in developed countries and are currently contributing to the development of the University. Our partners have also received around 800 students to study and exchange according to 70 international exchange programs. With the experience in training and scientific research, VNUA has trained agricultural human resources for some Southeast Asian countries and Africa with a total of 400 students, mainly from Laos and Cambodia. Annually, about 100 international students from different regions are welcomed for the short-term student exchange program. Under the framework of international cooperation programs, VNUA also implemented nearly 60 programs and projects with a total funding of about 11 million US dollars and successfully organized nearly 140 conferences, seminars to introduce international scholarships attracting more than 8500 lecturers, researchers, domestic and international students. VNUA has received the supports of the Kingdom of Belgium, the Netherlands, Ireland, Japan, Israel, Korea, the United States, Argentina, Australia ... International organizations have provided thousands of scholarships for VNUA students to study, exchange and practice abroad as well as invested in equipment, facilities and shared scientific information with VNUA.
In order to recognize the contributions of the organizations and individuals to Vietnam National University of Agriculture, the University solemnly organized the "Recognition Ceremony for Organizations and Individuals’ Notable Contributions to the Development of Vietnam National University of Agriculture” on March 6th, 2019

The ceremony received the attendance of 18 representatives of international embassies and organizations including the Embassies of Belgium, the Netherlands, Ireland, Russia, Slovakia, Israel, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, the Philippines, Indonesia, China., Chile, Uruguay, Angola, Mexico, Argentina and Japan's JDS organization. Ms. Elsbeth Akkerman - Ambassador of of the Republic of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, H.E. Mr. João Manuel Bernardo – Ambassador of Angola, Mr. Luis Agustine Costas – Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of Argentina, Mr. Op Sophy - Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of of Cambodia, Ms. Elisa Cavacece - Deputy Head of Mission of the of the Embassy of the Republic of Ireland, the Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of Mexico, and the representatives from other embassies and organizations.

At the ceremony, President Nguyen Thi Lan expressed her sincere thanks and high appreciation for the valuable contributions of universities and academic institutions of many countries and emphasized her wish to continue receiving their supports and cooperation to exploit and promote the potentials and strengths of each party such as development of the joint bachelor training programs 2 + 2 or 3 + 1 or the international master's training programs, providing scholarships for PhD students to study abroad. VNUA will continue to promote student exchange activities, short-term and long-term training staff and strengthen the implemation of joint research, international conferences and international publications.

On behalf of the international delegates, Ms. Elsbeth Akkerman - Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, congratulated Vietnam National University of Agriculture on its achievements and sent her best wishes to the female leaders, staff, and scientists of the University on the occasion of the International Women's Day March 8th. The Ambassador also congratulated Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Lan on receiving the Kovalevskaya Prize 2018, a prestigious award for outstanding female scientists in Vietnam.

On the occasion of the early spring, the University organized a Tree-planting Festival, a good tradition launched by President Ho Chi Minh in 1960. Planting trees is also a very meaningful activity for the education sector "For the sake of ten years, we must plant trees, for the sake of 100 years, we should cultivate people". Tree-planting festival is also an opportunity to mark a new year and show the desire for a year full of health and success. The festival this year has become very special with the participation of the international delegates. This event marked a new step in the cooperative relationship of the University. Each tree planted brings a lot of hope for a brilliant future and the wish for fruitful cooperation.
