The 37th Future Farmer of Thailand

From 23rd to 28th February 2016, as part of the cooperation on education between the Office of the Vocational Education Commission - Thailand Ministry of Education and Vietnam National University of Agriculture, 4 students from the faculties of Education and Foreign Languages, Political and Social Sciences, and Aquaculturewere sent to attend the 37th Future Farmer of Thailand (FFT) held at the College of Agriculture and Technology, Songkhla, Thailand. VNUA’s students with their international friends.

The FFT is anannual vocational education program in agricultural science under the HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhom – Thailand’s Royal Patronage for Thailand students and representatives from several Asian countries for examples Vietnam, the South Korea, Japan, Indonesia, Lao, Cambodia, China etc. This was the 3rd time VNUA had students attended the program.

As usual, apart from agricultural demonstration models(plants, flowers, fruits), the 37th FFT program organizedcontests to promote career and presentation skillsincluding Career Demonstration, Floral Arrangement, Seminar for Vocational Agricultural Projects, andLandscape Gardening, and a National Art and Cultural Performance for participating student teams to introduce their typical national culture. The 37th FFT was honored to receive HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn at the Opening Ceremony.

Attending the 37th FFT were students from the South Korea, Cambodia, the Philippines, and Vietnam addition to several hundred Thailand students. VNUA’s students participatedin 2 contests namely Career Demonstration and Floral Arrangement and the National Art and Cultural Performance. They were highly valued for their spirit as well as thorough preparation for all participating activities. In addition, being open-minded and friendly, they left a deep impression on the international friends.

The Future Farmers of Thailand is a meaningful cultural student exchangethat provided participating students with professional presentation and communication skills enhancing English proficiency and team working ability, and built up networksamong studentsfrom agricultural universities/colleges in the region.
