On the afternoon of February 22, 2022, the Strong Research Group on Business, Commerce and Sustainable Development, Faculty of Accounting and Business Administration in collaboration with Faculty of Food Technology, Vietnam National University of Agriculture (VNUA) and experts from the University Cock, Ireland solemnly organized the Training Conference on “Fresh Milk Supply Chain Management”. Within the framework of the annual activities of the strong research group Business, Trade and Sustainable Development and the framework of cooperation between the parties, this conference was part of the IDEAS 2020.01 project to enhance innovation capacity and food safety for Vietnamese lecturers and researchers through expert training and cooperation in a joint research program with partners from Ireland on food safety management in the dairy supply chain; promote opportunities for exchange of lecturers/researchers between VNUA and international partners; and promote linkages between Vietnamese private enterprises and farms with Irish companies/markets in terms of food safety in general and food safety in the dairy product supply chain in particular. The conference was organized to provide and share scientific arguments and knowledge related to the fresh milk supply chains in Vietnam and Ireland. The conference was held online via the Zoom platform.

Attending the conference were more than 40 participants who were the representatives from the Faculty of Accounting and Business Administration, Faculty of Food Technology, Faculty of Economics and Rural Development, VNUA, dairy enterprises, and UCC University, Ireland.

Delivering the welcoming speech at the conference, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Huu Cuong - former Dean of Faculty of Accounting and Business Administration (VNUA), project leader of IDEAS 2020.01 project - emphasized the importance of studying dairy supply chain management in Vietnam and learning from international experiences, especially experience from Ireland.

The conference selected 03 topics to be presented which focused on issues in fresh milk supply chain management, specifically:

1. Food safety in fresh milk supply chain in Hanoi and Ha Nam

2. Credit in the fresh milk value chain in Duy Tien district, Ha Nam province.

3. Innovation strategies and business models in small and medium enterprises.

Dr. Nguyen Van Phuong – Representative of the strong research team, Faculty of Accounting and Business Administration (VNUA), presented on the topic of "Food safety management in the fresh milk supply chain in Hanoi and Ha Nam"

MSc. Le Thi Thanh Hao - Head of Finance Department, Faculty of Accounting and Business Administration (VNUA) shared the topic entitled "Credit in the fresh milk value chain in Duy Tien district, Ha Nam province"

Dr. Ronan O'Farrell - Lecturer at Cock University, Ireland presented the presentation entitled "Innovation strategies and business models in small and medium enterprises"

After the 3 presentations, there was a question-and-answer session with the speakers to clarify the contents presented in the conference. The discussion focused on food safety risks in the value chain, lessons learned in promoting innovation at small businesses and dairy businesses in Ireland.

Delivering the closing speech at the conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Huu Cuong expressed his deep gratitude to the speakers, scientists, managers at the enterprise, and the participants for their valuable comments, criticisms and contributions for the conference. Assoc. Dr. Tran Huu Cuong affirmed that the contents presented and discussed in the conference achieved the set goals and contributed to the success of the conference.
