On March 24th, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Lan - President of Vietnam National University of Agriculture (VNUA), representative leaders of the International Cooperation Office, the Science and Technology Office, and the Center for Agriculture Technology Incubation (CATI), along with the experts in the field of mechanics and plant varieties of the University attended the Groundbreaking Ceremony of the Agricultural - Forestry Industrial Park in Chu Lai Open Economic Zone, Quang Nam province. On this occasion, Thaco held the Inauguration Ceremony of the Logistics and Port system to export Thaco Group's agricultural products. The project of Agriculture - Forestry Industrial Park covers an area of ​​451 ha with a total investment capital of VND 8.1 trillion and will be carried out from 2019 to 2022. This park will include a research center, model farms at industrial production scale which apply mechanization and digitalization management in accordance with the Industrial revolution 4.0.

At the Groundbreaking Ceremony, H.E. Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc expressed that “Thaco has already succeeded in the field of mechanics and automobiles. Therefore, when Thaco invests in the agricultural sector, mechanical engineering will be the advantage of the company because developing agricultural mechanics helps promote mechanization for all stages in the value chain. Agricultural products produced at Thaco Agricultural – Forestry Park, Chu Lai including fresh fruits or processed agricultural products that meet the standards of the importers will surely bring efficiency to agricultural production and exportation in the long term.".

On this event, Thaco and Vietnam National University of Agriculture has signed a cooperation agreement on research and human resource training to implement Thaco's agricultural production strategy nationwide and abroad. Some of their agricultural projects are the Thaco – Hoang Anh Gia Lai fruit production projects at the scale of thousands of hectares in Laos and Cambodia. The cooperation contents include:

1. Cooperation in training human resources in agricultural and rural development:

- Thaco accepts students from VNUA to practice and apprentice at Thaco;

- The University introduces its graduates to work at Thaco;

- Thaco and the University develop a human resource training program to meet Thaco's needs.

2. Cooperation in training, retraining, and fostering key human resources for Thaco

- The University appoints lecturers and experts to offer trainings at Thaco;

- The University organizes advanced training courses, high quality training, and international training at the University.

3. Cooperation to develop domestic and international projects in technology research, application, production, and business management to increase the values of the products in the fields of crops, biotechnology, breeding, veterinary medicines, technology of preservation and processing, mechanization and automation, the application of digital technology in management and production and business, developing value chain applying technology in production management and business.
