Delivering the opening speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Van Cuong, vice-president of VNUA, emphasized the importance of science and technology for the country’s development, especially in the education sector. A prestigious and high ranking university with professors who have excellent scientific research abilities will be able to attract more resources, particularly sources of good scientific staff and students with high entrance qualities.

At the ceremony, scientists discussed and shared their experiences on activities related to science and technology areas such as: methods for the transfer of scientific and technological products, international cooperation in science and technology, and how to develop more international publications, etc.

On behalf of the Presidency Board, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Lan gave her congratulatory speech during the ceremony and set afoot an emulation movement in the fields of science and technology at VNUA for the 2016-2021 period. On this occasion, the president of VNUA signed an honor decision and awarded 54 people who had their papers published in international journals (IF indicators) and 2 groups of authors approved for technical progress, 1 author was presented with the prize of Vietnamese books in 2015, and 7 collectives and 5 individuals were recognized for outstanding accomplishments in the fields of science and technology for the 2011-2015 period, so as to encourage scientists to initiate several research works to contribute to improving VNUA’s position.
