Cooperation with the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, the University of Georgia, Athens, the United States

On May 27 2014, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Trach, Vice Rector, along with representative leaders of the International Cooperation Office (ICO) and the Faculty of Environment warmly welcomed a delegation from the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (CAES), the University of Georgia, Athens (UGA), one of the top three agricultural colleges in the United States.

The University of Georgia, Athens and Hanoi University of Agriculture (HUA) officially established bilateral cooperation in training and research in 2008 with a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed for the period 2008-2013.
\r\n
At the meeting, the two sides discussed the renewal of the MoU between the UGA and HUA that was expired in March 2013, the MOET supports and other scholarships to Vietnamese faculty to study at the UGA, and prospects for some new areas of collaboration.

HUA proposed an agreement on providing a list of professors who are willing to instruct students studying at the UGA and it would be posted on the website of the two universities.
\r\n
They further discussed other matters of mutual research interests and potential joint research programs in climate change, integrated pest management, food safety, and joint training programs. ICO provided a list of HUA experts in IPM to CAES which could be a human resource for projects proposed by CAES.
\r\n
The visit of the CAES’s delegation to HUA has enhanced and opened new areas of bilateral collaboration, especially in research and training.
