From 10 to 31 December 2021, a group of students from Faculty of Animal Science, Vietnam National University of Agriculture (VNUA) participated in an international student exchange program with students from Faculty of Animal Science, Brawijaya University, Indonesia; Faculty of Agricultural Science and Technology, Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna, Thailand; and Faculty of Agriculture and Fisheries, Tra Vinh University, Vietnam. The program was held online on the Zoom application platform.

On December 10, 2021, with the topic of dairy farming, a group of students from Faculty of Animal Sience (VNUA) gave a presentation entitled "The current situation of dairy farming in the North of Vietnam: opportunities and challenges". This was an opportunity for VNUA students to exchange and learn with friends in the region about expertise and practice their soft skills such as foreign languages, computer, presentation, and teamwork skills.

At the beginning of the first session on December 10, 2021, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Kim Dang - Dean of the Faculty of Animal Science and the lecturers and leaders of the participating universities gave a speech to introduce the content, purpose, and meaning of the program. Students from different universities would then take turns presenting and discussing dairy farming in their respective countries. At the first session, a group of students from the Faculty of Animal Science (VNUA) gave a presentation on dairy farming in the North of Vietnam on the following aspects: overview, dairy cow breeds and food sources for dairy cows, current milk consumption, new technologies being applied; current diseases, and environmental pollution caused by dairy farming.

 

At the end of the session was the general discussion for participants to discuss and find out solutions to the existing problems in dairy farming, which was followed by an introduction to Indonesian culture by a group of students from the Faculty of Animal Science, Brawijaya University, Indonesia.

 

At the first day of the program, the students from Faculty of Animal Science (VNUA) showed good foreign language skills, English - the international language which is the important means for learners to access the earliest scientific and technical advances in the world. The ability to work in groups, communication skills, and handling situations of students of Faculty of Animal Science (VNUA) were also promoted. This was the first time there had been a cooperation of VNUA students from the first to the fourth year in one presentation in front of international students. They performed well thanks to their constructive spirit and efforts. Hopefully, with this spirit, they would continue to perform well in the following working days.
