At the 70th Anniversary of VNUA (October 12, 1956 – October 12, 2026) and the ceremony receiving the First-Class Labor Order, Politburo Member and Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man attended, delivered a keynote address, and planted a commemorative tree on the university campus.

During the ceremony, on behalf of the leaders of the Party and State, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man presented the First-Class Labor Order to VNUA.

This award stands as a recognition by the Party and State of the significant contributions made by generations of VNUA’s leaders, faculty, scientists, and students throughout its 70 years of growth and development. It is also an immense honor, a source of pride, and a driving force for the university to continuously innovate, enhance the quality of education, scientific research, and technology transfer, making practical contributions to the development of national agriculture and the country as a whole.

On the occasion of the 70th Anniversary (October 12, 1956 - October 12, 2026) and the receipt of the First-Class Labor Order, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, alongside central officials, planted a commemorative tree on the campus grounds.

Extending his warmest congratulations to all generations of cadres, lecturers, scientists, staff, graduate students, and undergraduates on this milestone 70th anniversary, the National Assembly Chairman noted that on October 12, 1956, the University of Agriculture and Forestry-the predecessor of VNUA was established with 27 teaching staff, 3 faculties, and 4 training majors.

Over various historical periods, the university hads steadily matured alongside the nation. During the years of resistance wars, generations of teachers and students simultaneously taught, conducted research, and contributed to the national resistance and post-war reconstruction efforts.

In the era of national development, the university had trained tens of thousands of scientific and technical personnel for the agricultural sector, delivering numerous research outcomes and practical technical advances to agricultural production.

Entering the period of renewal and international integration, VNUA has continued to drive strong reforms in education, research, international cooperation, and technology transfer. It has gradually affirmed its position as a key national higher education institution, playing an increasingly crucial role in the country’s higher education system as well as the national ecosystem of science, technology, and innovation.

Notably, from this institution, generations of officials, scientists, engineers, experts, managers, and entrepreneurs had grown and actively contributed to building and developing the nation.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, the National Assembly Chairman warmly acknowledged and highly commended the monumental contributions of generations of teachers and scientists who dedicated their passion, intellect, and entire lives to education and scientific research. He warmly praised the achievements accomplished by VNUA over the past 70 years.

A central requirement emphasized by the National Assembly Chairman was that VNUA had to serve as a bridge connecting the State, the university, scientists, businesses, and farmers-becoming a hub linking knowledge and technology with practical agricultural production.

Accordingly, the university’s operations had tobe not confined to lecture halls and laboratories, but expand the scope of research, training, and technology transfer, aligning more closely with the needs of production and daily life. “We must bring knowledge from lecture halls to the fields; bring technology from laboratories to production; transfer research findings to enterprises; bring scientific value to farmers; and bring real-world production issues back to lecture halls and labs to research and resolve,” urged the National Assembly Chairman.

International delegates and partners attending the event also congratulated VNUA on its remarkable 70-year achievements.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Lan, VNUA’s President, emphasized that the most profound achievement of the 70-year journey was its people. The university hadtrained over 150,000 engineers and graduates, more than 15,000 master’s degree holders, and over 800 PhDs. The growth and dedication of generations of alumni, together with transferred crop varieties, livestock breeds, and technical processes, had significantly improved production efficiency and farmers' livelihoods. The First-Class Labor Order was a shared honor acknowledging the tireless efforts of all generations who built the university.

Representing the students, Nguyen Ngoc Khanh, a student at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, VNUA, expressed her immense pride in studying at a university rich in tradition. Khanh shared that the lessons imparted by faculty members not only provided academic knowledge but also shaped students' mindset, values, and aspirations to excel.

Expressing confidence in the glorious tradition, new vision, fresh aspirations, and the spirit of solidarity, innovation, and creativity of the faculty, scientists, and students, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man expressed his hope that VNUA would continue to thrive, remaining worthy of the trust of the Party, State, and people, and contributing actively to building a strong, prosperous, civilized, and happy Vietnam.
