On the afternoon of March 15, 2023, Vice President of Vietnam National University of Agriculture (VNUA), Prof. Dr. Pham Van Cuong had a meeting and worked with the delegation of Novosibirsk State Agrarian University, Russia, led by Vice Rector Babin Vladislav Nikolaevich. The meeting was an opportunity for the two parties to discuss and develop specific plans to strongly promote cooperation in training and scientific research in the near future.

At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Pham Van Cuong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice President of the university, said that many staff and lecturers of the universities had studied for masters and doctorates in Russia. On that basis, along with many similarities in the fields of training and research, Prof. Dr. Pham Van Cuong hoped that the cooperation relationship between the two parties would be increasingly tightened and officially through the signing of a memorandum of understanding.
Also, at the meeting, representatives of the two parties had an exchange of training programs and research orientations in order to exchange opportunities for cooperation in human resource training for the agricultural sector as well as scholarship mechanisms and policy for lecturers, researchers and exchange students within the framework of Erasmus+ program, seeking funding to develop joint project proposals, exchanging documents, materials, and selecting plant and livestock varieties, etc.
Presenting at the meeting, VNUA’s officials and lecturers, who studied and did research in Russia, expressed their hope that the two parties could collaborate to organize scientific seminars and conferences. These would be the opportunities for experts and lecturers from the two universities as well as other research units to exchange and share useful experiences and knowledge.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Babin Vladislav Nikolaevich, Vice Rector of Novosibirsk State Agrarian University, Russia gave an overview of the university. Sharing about the orientation of cooperation with VNUA in the coming period, Mr. Babin Vladislav Nikolaevich hoped that the two universities would increase the exchange of lecturers, students and PhD students who could present professional lectures at seminars/conferences, work together on joint research projects in the areas of mutual interest. Data obtained during the joint research would be published in peer-reviewed journals by the joint effort of scientists from both universities.
VNUA and Novosibirsk State Agrarian University sign a memorandum of understanding for cooperation
The visit and working program of the delegation of Novosibirsk State Agrarian University, Russia at VNUA ended successfully in an open and friendly atmosphere. The meeting had an important meaning, as a premise to mark the development and open up opportunities for extensive cooperation between the two universities in the coming years.
Novosibirsk State Agrarian University (formerly Novosibirsk Agricultural Research Institute), founded in 1935, is a university in Novosibirsk, the second largest scientific and educational center in Western Siberia. Currently, the university has 53 undergraduate training programs, 25 master's and doctoral training programs.
The university consists of 6 faculties, 2 research institutes, and a branch in Tomsk (Tomsk Agricultural Institute), 2 experimental farms, a training area for agricultural equipment, a test and lab area, a library with more than 700 thousand titles, a stadium under construction with a football field and running track, a sports complex with a hall for wrestling, 3 outdoor sports fields for football, volleyball, basketball and athletics, free Wi-Fi, sports and recreation “Grace” in the village of Kirza on the Ob coast.
The university also has a Russian language preparatory department for foreign citizens. In addition, the university has various clubs and student associations to help foreign students, creating opportunities for the students to exchange and learn cultures around the world.
