On the afternoon of October 20, 2025, at the Giang Huong Meeting Room, Central Building, Vietnam National University of Agriculture (VNUA) held a working session and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Institute of Agricultural Machinery, Japan (IAM/NARO) and ListenField Corporation (Japan).

The session was chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Ngoc Huyen , VNUA’s Vice President, with the participation of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Viet Long, Head of the International Cooperation Office; Dr. Nguyen Xuan Truong,  Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Truong, Director of the Institute of Biology and Agricultural Technology, together with lecturers representing key research groups from the Faculty of Engineering, VNUA.

On the Japanese side, the delegation was led by Mr. Furuyama Takashi, Senior Researcher at the Institute of Agricultural Machinery (IAM/NARO). Accompanying him were Ms. Rassarin Chinnachodteeranun, CEO of ListenField Corporation; Mr. Honda Kiyoshi, Chief Strategy Officer, along with representatives from partner organizations such as the Nomura Research Institute, Agri Info Design Co., Ltd. (Japan), and ListenField Co., Ltd. (Thailand), a member company of the ListenField Corporation (Japan).

In his opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Ngoc Huyen warmly welcomed the delegation and introduced an overview of VNUA, a multidisciplinary university with nearly 70 years of tradition and development. He emphasized that VNUA had always played a pioneering role in training, research, and technology transfer to serve the sustainable development of Vietnam’s agriculture.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Ngoc Huyen further noted that this meeting was not only an opportunity for the two sides to strengthen mutual understanding and share development orientations, but also an important starting point that would lay the foundation for practical cooperation in the research, development, and application of smart agricultural machinery, contributing to the digital transformation and modernization of Vietnam’s agriculture.

Representing the Japanese partners, Ms. Rassarin Chinnachodteeranun expressed sincere gratitude for the warm reception from VNUA and introduced ListenField Corporation, a pioneering agritech company specializing in data collection and analysis platforms for agricultural decision-making, aiming to enhance crop productivity and promote sustainable farming practices.

Both sides discussed potential directions for cooperation in research, application, and technology transfer in the field of smart agriculture. Mr. Nguyen Van Nang, Senior Researcher at the Institute of Agricultural Machinery (IAM/NARO) (Japan) shared that this collaborative model had received strong support from both sides, reflecting a shared commitment to promoting climate-smart agriculture, improving farm management efficiency, optimizing resource use, and reducing emissions in Vietnam’s agricultural production.

At the end of the meeting, the two sides signed the Memorandum of Understanding, exchanged gifts, and took commemorative photos in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Ngoc Huyen assigned the Faculty of Engineering to act as the main liaison, responsible for continuing to promote and effectively implement the cooperation activities in the coming time.
