Visit of International Development Programs Director, University of Western Australia (UWA)

On 24, March 2014 Dr. Annabel Turner - Director of International Development Programs, the University of Western Australia (UWA) visited and worked with Hanoi University of Agriculture (HUA) following her and UWA delegation’s official visit in November last year. Warmly receiving Dr. Annabel Turner were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Trach, Vice Rector of HUA, representative leaders and staff of the Faculty of Economics and Rural Development, and the International Cooperation Office. At the meeting, both sides exchanged a signed MOU to pay the way for bilateral cooperation in research and education between the two universities

The University of Western Australia was established in 1911 with current 17,538 students and training programs at all levels including undergraduate, post graduate and doctoral. UWA is widely recognized as one of two top leading prestigious universities in Australia and ranks among the top 100 universities of the world for its outstanding scientific research and high quality of undergraduate programs.

At the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Trach expressed willingness to cooperate with UWA to build an affiliate MBA program in agricultural economics, to invite professors/lecturers to deliver lectures for HUA advanced education programs, to organize Summer School courses for students of the two universities. Dr. Annabel Turner highly agreed with proposed cooperation and informed that the delegation of the Ministry of Education led by his honorable Minister of Western Australia would be likely to visit Hanoi and work with HUA. This is a great opportunity for HUA to continue to discuss and suggest more potential collaborative activities as well as support in education and training for HUA in the future.
