In an effort to expand international collaboration and update trends in herbal product development, on November 6, 2025, the Strong Research Group on Crop and Medicinal Plant Product Research and Development, Vietnam National University of Agriculture (VNUA), organized a seminar featuring Mr. Petetz Gan, an international expert from Israel. The event was attended by the Board of the Faculty of Agronomy, VNUA, representatives from the Department of Industrial and Medicinal Crops, members of the research group, as well as numerous lecturers and students with an interest in medicinal plant studies.

During the seminar, Mr. Petetz Gan introduced Al-Alim Company, a multidisciplinary enterprise in the agricultural sector specializing in the production, trade, and education of herbal products. With strong expertise in medicinal plants, the company has been actively engaged in the conservation and development of more than 200 valuable medicinal plant species, including both indigenous varieties and rare species from the United States, China, India, and other countries. Building upon this rich genetic resource, Al-Alim has developed a closed-loop production chain encompassing propagation, organic cultivation, processing, and distribution. The company produces over 1,000 herbal products that are 100% natural and cater to both domestic and international markets.

Mr. Peter Gan shared extensive experience in the development of medicinal plants in Israel, highlighting the technologies currently being applied and proposing potential areas of collaboration with VNUA. His suggestions included sharing genetic resources and co-developing commercialized products from selected high-value medicinal plant species for pilot trials in Vietnam.

The discussion session was lively, with numerous questions from participants regarding cultivation techniques, preliminary processing methods, bioactive compounds, and ecological conditions suitable for medicinal plant production areas.

The seminar concluded in an open and engaging atmosphere, providing valuable insights for lecturers and students. It also opened up promising directions for research collaboration and the application of Israeli medicinal plant varieties in Vietnam.
