On the evening of January 16, 2026, Vietnam National University of Agriculture (VNUA) officially opened the 2026 Student Spring Fair under the theme “Pride in Vietnamese Heritage, Rich Flavors of Tet (Lunar New Year) – VNUA Students Elevating Agricultural Products.” The event not only created a vibrant and festive atmosphere welcoming the Lunar New Year imbued with traditional cultural values, but also served as a creative space where enterprises, cooperatives, staff, and students introduced, promoted, and enhanced the value of agricultural products.

The opening ceremony was held solemnly with the participation of many distinguished guests, including:
Mr. Vo Van Hung, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment; Mr. Ta Dinh Thi, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly’s Committee on Science, Technology and Environment; Ms. Vu Thi Luu Mai, Former Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly’s Committee on Economic and Financial Affairs;
Mr. Paul Onings and Ms. Mai Hong, Vice Presidents of the Netherlands–Vietnam Agricultural Business Association; Mr. Nguyen Van Luyen, Deputy General Director of the Vietnam National Chemical Group;
along with representatives of numerous enterprises and cooperatives.

Representing VNUA were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Lan, Member of the National Assembly, Secretary of the Party Committee, VNUA’s President; Prof. Dr. Tran Duc Vien, Chairman of the University’s Council for Science and Training; members of the Party Executive Committee and the Board of Directors; leaders of affiliated units; representatives of the Trade Union, Youth Union, and Student Association; and a large number of students participating in product exhibitions at the Fair.

In her remarks at the event, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Lan emphasized that this year’s Student Spring Fair featured the participation of more than 50 cooperatives and enterprises, together with a large number of staff and students, showcasing a wide range of agricultural products, flowers, ornamental plants, and regional specialties.
She noted that the Fair was not only a Tet shopping destination, but also a space for experiential learning, entrepreneurship, and connectivity between the university, enterprises, cooperatives, and students. She expressed her hope that the Fair would help students better understand traditional Tet customs, appreciate cultural heritage and the value of labor, and nurture an entrepreneurial spirit. More importantly, the event served as a warm gathering point that connected staff, employees, students, enterprises, and cooperatives, spreading compassion, sharing, and hope for a peaceful, prosperous, and promising New Year.

Delivering the speeach at the Fair, Deputy Minister Vo Van Hung highlighted that the VNUA Student Spring Fair was not merely a festive celebration, but also a vivid re-enactment of the beauty of traditional Tet. It was a space that connected knowledge, products, and markets, introducing agricultural products, innovative models, and startup ideas developed by VNUA’s lecturers and students. The organization of the Fair, he stressed, was a clear demonstration of the university’s educational philosophy of “learning goes hand in hand with practice, theory associated with reality” in training high-quality human resources for the country and local communities.

The Deputy Minister encouraged students to continue nurturing their aspirations and spirit of service; to dare to think, act, and innovate; to proactively engage with science and technology, digital transformation, and sustainable development models; and to strengthen international integration capacity. He particularly emphasized that each student project should become a “lesson in maturity”, incorporating market research, financial models, branding strategies, and product stories linked to regional and Vietnamese cultural identities.

In the joyful atmosphere welcoming the new spring, Deputy Minister Vo Van Hung and the delegates jointly performed the button-pressing ceremony to officially inaugurate the 2026 VNUA Student Spring Fair. This moment marked the opening of a vibrant cultural and experiential space infused with the spirit of Tet, featuring a series of lively activities taking place from January 16 to  February 13, 2026, including: seminars on promoting and commercializing local specialty products; traditional bánh chưng wrapping and cooking competitions for staff and students; exhibitions of OCOP products, flowers, and ornamental plants; and various student startup, cultural, and artistic activities.

The final session of the opening ceremony featured impressive artistic performances by the VNUA Arts Club. Under the theme “Spring Melodies,” VNUA youth performed well-known works such as “Năm qua đã làm gì” (What Have We Done This Past Year ) by Bui Cong Nam, “Hoa cỏ mùa xuân” (Spring Flowers and Grass) by Bao Chan, “Nàng xuân” (Spring Maiden) and “Thì thầm mùa xuân” (Whispers of Spring) by Minh Chau, among others.
