On the afternoon of December 17, at Vietnam National University of Agriculture (VNUA), ORION Korea donated a modern cold storage facility for seed potato preservation, with a capacity of 250 tons, along with “the 2025 Homeland Potatoes Scholarships” for students of the Institute of Biology and Agricultural Technology. The event marked the tenth consecutive year of ORION’s partnership with VNUA, further affirming a sustainable cooperation model among scientists, farmers, and enterprises in the development of high-tech agriculture.

The ceremony for the handover of the cold storage facility and the awarding of the “2025 Homeland Potatoes Scholarships” was held solemnly at VNUA, with the participation of VNUA’s leaders, the Institute of Biology and Agricultural Technology, representatives of ORION Korea, as well as a large number of staff members, lecturers, and students.

Mr. Park Se Yeol, General Director of ORION Korea in Vietnam, expressed his pleasure at continuing to accompany VNUA and affirmed that ORION consistently placed great importance on investment in scientific research, potato variety development, and the training of high-quality agricultural human resources in Vietnam.

Outstanding VNUA’s students with excellent achievements in academic study, scientific research, and extracurricular activities were honored to receive the scholarships, which served as meaningful encouragement in both material and spiritual terms.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Truong, Director of the Institute of Biology and Agricultural Technology, VNUA, expressed his sincere gratitude to ORION Korea, emphasizing the long-term significance of nearly two decades of cooperation in research, variety breeding, raw material area development, and student training.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Ngoc Huyen, VNUA’s Vice President, highly appreciated the effectiveness of the scientist–farmer–enterprise linkage model and expressed his expectation that the cooperation between VNUA and ORION would continue to expand in both scale and depth.

Immediately after the ceremony, delegates took part in the ribbon-cutting ceremony to inaugurate the 250-ton seed potato cold storage facility sponsored by ORION Korea. This modern facility would contribute to enhancing seed storage capacity and reducing post-harvest losses.

The modern cold storage system would enable the Institute of Biology and Agricultural Technology, VNUA, to proactively secure a supply of high-quality seed potatoes, effectively supporting research, production, and the development of sustainable raw material areas.
