On March 21, 2025, President of Vietnam National University of Agriculture, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Lan had a courtesy meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Argentina to Vietnam, Mr. Marcos Antonio BEDNARSKI. Participating in the meeting were representatives of the International Cooperation Office, Faculty of Food Science and Technology, Faculty of Agronomy and Quinoa Research Group, Faculty of Agronomy.

At the meeting, President Nguyen Thi Lan expressed her delight when the Ambassador and his delegation visited the university. President Lan said that VNUA is a university with a long history of development in Vietnam with nearly 70 year establishment. VNUA always focuses on developing cooperative relationships with partners around the world. VNUA has officially developed cooperation with the Faculty of Agronomy, University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, to do research on quinoa since 2017. The quinoa research team at VNUA continues to conduct research on quinoa based on previous cooperative research with Argentine partners. VNUA has also continued to expand cooperation through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the National Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA) in 2024, a leading research institute in agricultural technology with extensive experience in technology transfer and commercialization of Argentine research products thanks to the connection of the Argentine Embassy in Vietnam.

President Nguyen Thi Lan emphasized that with a team of highly qualified staff, a wide network of alumni of which many are holding key positions in ministries and agencies across the country, along with lots of achievements in science, technology and training, VNUA have prospects for cooperation with Argentine partners. She hopes that the Embassy will seek and provide more information on postgraduate scholarship opportunities for students as well as exchange programs for staff to study and exchange in Argentina. The university will select outstanding students and staff to participate in these programs. VNUA is always ready to receive Argentine staff and students to study and research at VNUA and coordinate with the Embassy to invite leading Argentine experts to organize workshops as well as develop joint research proposals on high-tech applications in agriculture, digital transformation, innovation in the agricultural sector following the direction of the Government in making breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation.
Mr. Marcos Antonio BEDNARSKI agreed with Mrs Lan's suggestion and believed that the establishment of cooperation between VNUA and Argentine partners would be increasingly expanded on the base of the VNUA's initial cooperation with the University of Buenos Aires, the INTA and the tight cooperation between the two countries' Ministries of Agriculture. He also expressed his willingness to be the bridge connecting VNUA and Argentine partners to promote mutual cooperation. In the coming time, he proposed that VNUA would be a good place to organize photo session on breakthroughs of agricultural research achievements of the INTA and Argentina. This will be an opportunity for VNUA's staff and students to have broader understanding about Argentina's advanced agriculture.

At the end of the meeting, Ambassador Marcos Antonio BEDNARSKI and President Nguyen Thi Lan both hoped for further development in the cooperative relationship between VNUA and Argentine partners with the support and connection of the Argentine Embassy in Vietnam.

After the reception, the Ambassador and his delegates visited VNUA – Techmart, where display research products of VNUA and agricultural products from many local provinces in Vietnam, and research labs at the Center of Research Excellence and Innovation.
