President Nguyen Thi Lan informed the ambassador that VNUA is currently collaborating with the Faculty of Agronomy, University of Buenos Aires, one of the leading universities in Argentina, to carry out the Protocol “Quinoa varietal selection and production development for favorable ecological areas in Vietnam”, under the bilateral and multilateral program of the Ministry of Science and Technology until 2020. This is one of the first steps in expanding cooperation with Argentine partners and the research results will be very meaningful, not only to VNUA but also to Vietnam’s agricultural sector. VNUA’s President also emphasized that with highly qualified staff, an extensive alumni network in which a large number of members are assuming key positions in different ministries, sectors and organizations across the country, together with various achievements in science, technology and education, VNUA possesses numerous prospects in strengthening its collaboration with Argentine partners. The President also hoped that the Argentine Embassy to Vietnam would seek and provide more information on scholarships to study in Argentina to VNUA students and staff.
Mr. Juan Carlos Valle Raleigh totally agreed with what Prof. Dr. Lan shared and believed that the establishment of cooperation relationship between VNUA and Argentine partners will be soon strengthened and expanded given VNUA’s existing collaboration with the University of Buenos Aires and a good collaboration between the Ministries of Agriculture of the two countries. The Ambassador stated that the Embassy would try their best to contact and arrange a proper working agenda with the partners proposed by VNUA, especially the National Agricultural Technology Institute (INTA), a leading research institute in the field of agricultural technology, which has rich experiences with agricultural technology transfer and commercialization of research products in Argentina, the areas that VNUA is striving to develop, as mentioned by President Lan.
