Ms. Cao Wenjun, Secretary of the Party Committee of CNU, stated that CNU was established in 1954 and one of China’s most influential universities in the fields of education and teacher training nationwide. The university currently offered 60 undergraduate programs, 46 master’s programs, and 23 doctoral programs. At present, it enrolled approximately 25,000 undergraduate students, postgraduate students, and doctoral candidates. CNU was entrusted with the mission of training more than 50% of the teaching workforce for Beijing. The university maintained over 200 cooperative projects with partners in 54 countries. CNU had educated 180 Vietnamese students at undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels, many of whom had gone on to achieve outstanding success in their professional careers. In 2007, CNU launched programs in International Chinese Language Education; in 2009, it established a doctoral program in the same field; and in 2024, it introduced an international doctoral program in Chinese Language Studies. In addition, CNU had notable strengths in disciplines related to agriculture, including biotechnology and botany. The university consistently placed high importance on cooperation in Chinese language education as a means of promoting international humanities education. Ms. Cao Wenjun emphasized that the two universities possessed broad opportunities for collaboration in the agricultural sector. In the coming period, both institutions would strengthen cooperation in integrated programs such as Chinese Language and Tourism, Chinese Language and Agricultural Sciences, and Chinese Language and Geography Education, etc.
Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Lan, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of VNUA, expressed her appreciation for the cooperation as well as the warm and gracious welcome extended by the leadership of CNU. She affirmed that VNUA highly valued its partnership with CNU. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Lan highly appreciated CNU’s remarkable development in recent years, particularly its contributions to human resource development for both China and Vietnam in the fields of teacher education and Chinese language training. VNUA currently cooperated with 200 international partners and had always attached great importance to collaboration with Chinese universities, research institutes, and organizations. Since 1992, VNUA had established partnerships with many universities in China. She noted that CNU and VNUA shared many similarities and possess numerous disciplines with strong cooperation potential, such as biotechnology, animal science, food technology, and high-tech agriculture. Recently, VNUA had launched several new academic programs to strengthen domestic and international cooperation, including language and social science disciplines such as Chinese, English, Tourism, and Law. VNUA hoped to cooperate with CNU to accelerate the development of these new programs. In particular, VNUA sought to focus on collaboration in education and training, faculty development, and student exchange, especially in Chinese Language Studies, one of CNU’s leading strengths.
