On May 12, 2025, the Student Scientific Research Conference of the Faculty of Agronomy, Vietnam National University of Agriculture (VNUA), took place successfully at the International Hall, marking an important milestone in fostering a spirit of learning and scientific exploration within the student community. The event brought together all the dedicated lecturers of the faculty and more than 300 students from various classes, creating a vibrant and inspiring academic atmosphere.
The conference opened with a profound keynote speech by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Tung, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Agronomy, who conveyed a powerful message about the indispensable role of scientific research in the holistic development of students. He emphasized that scientific research was a key that unlocked the door to knowledge, cultivates critical thinking, and enhanced the ability to analyze and solve problems creatively. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Tung also affirmed that, "In the context of a constantly evolving agricultural sector facing numerous global challenges, equipping students with solid scientific research skills is crucial. Scientific research enables students not only to master theoretical knowledge but also to apply it in practice, develop self-learning and research capabilities, and adapt to rapid changes in science and technology. This is the firm foundation for them to become outstanding agronomists and agricultural scientists in the future so that they may contribute to the sustainable development of the sector and the nation." He also proudly shared the tradition of student research within the Faculty of Agronomy, where generations of students had continuously strived, pursued their passion, and achieved remarkable success in prestigious national scientific arenas. These achievements were not only a source of pride for the Faculty but also a testament to the great potential and boundless creativity of Agronomy students.
The highlight of the conference was the heartfelt presentations delivered by the six most outstanding student research groups, selected from ten groups participating in the 2024 Student Scientific Research Program. These groups showcased unique and valuable research projects across the fields of Plant Protection, Crop Science, and Plant Breeding.
Each presentation served as a vivid testament to the students' passion for science, serious work ethic, and independent thinking skills. Faculty members and attending students had the opportunity to listen, ask questions, and exchange ideas, creating an open and constructive academic atmosphere.
In the ending session of the conference, the Faculty of Agronomy, VNUA, awarded one First Prize, one Second Prize, two Third Prizes, and two Consolation Prizes to recognize and encourage the students’ efforts and achievements.
