Hanoi, 1st July 2014Announcement on the renaming of Hanoi University of Agriculture intoVietnam National University of AgricultureDear Colleagues and Partners,Greetings from Vietnam National University of Agriculture!Vietnam National University of Agriculture dates back to the founding of the University of Agriculture and Forestry in 1956. Since then, it has been renamed several times with many twists and turns, hardships and achievements, all the while striving to advance excellence in teaching and research. Over the past 58 years of development, the University has obtained remarkable achievements in scientific research, training, social services and the transmission of cultural values. We can confidently declare with pride that our University has made, and continues to make important contributions to the development of the agricultural sector in particular and Vietnam in general.

For these reasons, it is my pleasure to inform you that the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam has decided to rename Hanoi University of Agriculture (HUA) into Vietnam National University of Agriculture (VNUA), which is now under the administration of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD). The decision marked an important milestone in the development of the University to enable it to better take the lead in scientific research, higher education, and social services for the cause of agricultural and rural development of the country.

On this occasion, I would like to express my gratitude for your continued efforts to promote academic cooperation and exchange with VNUA.
