On July 29, 2025, the Faculty of Tourism and Foreign Languages, Vietnam National University of Agriculture (VNUA), had the honor of welcoming and working with a delegation from Dongseo University, South Korea, to discuss potential cooperation opportunities in training and international exchange. The working session was organized with the aim of establishing sustainable and effective collaborative activities between the two universities in the near future.

On behalf of Dongseo University, the delegation included Ms. Kim Ae Jin, Vice Director of the Office of International Cooperation; Mr. Choi Hong Sung, Vice Director of the Center for International Exchange; Ms. Baek Ji Hye, Coordinator, Center for International Exchange; and Dr. Shim Dong Ho, Expert.

Representing the Faculty of Tourism and Foreign Languages, VNUA, there were Dr. Nguyen Tat Thang, Dean of the Faculty; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Ho Ngoc Ninh, Vice Dean of the Faculty; M.A. Pham Huong Lan, Head of the Department of Basic English; and M.A. Dang Xuan Phi, Department of Hospitality and Restaurant Management.

Representatives from the Ocean Visa Training Institute Company included Ms. Pham Thi Xuan, Director and Ms. Ha Thi Ngoc Hoa, Assistant.

On behalf of the Faculty of Tourism and Foreign Languages, VNUA, Dr. Nguyen Tat Thang expressed his delight in welcoming the delegation from Dongseo University, “We highly value the educational cooperation between Vietnam and South Korea in general, and between VNUA and Dongseo University in particular. This is a great opportunity for both universities to expand lecturer and student exchange programs, as well as scholarship opportunities, thereby enhancing the quality of training and scientific research at both universities.”

Ms. Kim Ae Jin, Vice Director of the Office of International Cooperation, Dongseo University, emphasized that, “Dongseo University always places great importance on international collaboration, especially with universities in Vietnam and VNUA. We believe that following this visit and working session, many meaningful activities will be organized in the near future.”

During the meeting, both universities introduced similar training programs and discussed opportunities for cooperation in student and lecturer exchanges, as well as exploring the potential for scholarships and joint research projects. The lively discussion opened up many promising prospects for practical collaboration in the fields of Tourism, Foreign Languages, and related disciplines.

Following the working session, the delegation from Dongseo University visited several key areas on the VNUA’s campus, including:

·         The Student Square, a communal space for student activities and events;

·         The Central Building and the square in front of it, a symbolic structure featuring modern architecture;

·         The Central Lecture Hall Area, a system of large lecture halls equipped with facilities for high-quality training;

·         The university's institutes and research centers where many applied research projects in agriculture and production were carried out;

·         The Center for Excellence and Innovation, a highlight of the university’s research, innovation, and technology transfer activities.

The delegation expressed their impression of VNUA’s scale and modern facilities and highly appreciated the potential for bilateral cooperation in research and education between the two universities.

The visit and working session of Dongseo University opened up opportunities for diverse connections and collaborations between the two universities. Both universities agreed to continue exchanging information and jointly develop specific cooperation programs to promote academic exchange, enhance the quality of training and research, and contribute to strengthening the Vietnam–Korea friendship in the field of higher education.
