Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Lan received UVY Honorary Fellowship of the United Graduate School of Veterinary Science, Yamaguchi University, Japan

From 13rd to 17th October 2015, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Lan, Acting President of Vietnam National University of Agriculture was very honored to be one of distinguished guests at the 25th Anniversary of the United Graduate School of Veterinary Science, Yamaguchi University, Japan .Over the past years, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Lan has made significant contributions to the development of international educational and research cooperation with foreign partners particularly with Japanese academic institutions. Since 2013, she has been a visiting professor at the University of Miyazaki in the veterinary field focusing on cross-border transmission of diseases. Recently, on her new position as Acting President of VNUA, she has intensively boosted interactive activities with partners to enhance capacity for VNUA’s faculty e.g. sending staff to study abroad, extending joint research with focus in the field of veterinary medicine, and animal science, etc.

Given remarkable achievements and contributions to international exchanges, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lan has been awarded Honorary Fellowship by the United Graduate School of Veterinary Science, Yamaguchi University, Japan. A UVY Honorary Fellowship is awarded to an individual, who is actively working for an overseas institute as a hub, has made a significant contribution to international exchange at the United Graduate School of Veterinary Science, Yamaguchi University. It is worthy noted that Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lan is the first Vietnamese to be awarded this noble title. It is likely to assure that her UVY Honorary Fellowship shall be the impetus for herself as well as VNUA’s faculty to continue to strive in research and training, promoting and maintaining international partnerships.
