Enhancement of implementation of Profession Oriented Higher Education Program

The Profession Oriented Higher Education (POHE) project has brought great effects on learners at universities nationwide. To foster the implementation of the second phase of POHE at Hanoi University of Agriculture (HUA), a meeting to guide on development of profession oriented higher education programs was held on 6 May, 2014.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Van Liet, Vice Rector, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Van Chinh, Vice Rector for education and training, representatives from Office of Training Management, POHE Project Management Board, Vice Deans and assistants for education and training from all faculties attended the meeting.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Van Liet informed that in the coming time the training programs would be built on two directions, i.e. academic and profession oriented. HUA would gradually increase the profession oriented training programs while decreasing the numbers of enrolled students for those programs which are not developed based on the afore mentioned directions. To implement the project, the MOET POHE project would support 10,000 EURO each for 5 profession oriented programs. In addition, the university would provide support for some other new developed ones. The meeting also notified particular requirements for the development of profession oriented training programs, including criteria for lecturers, lectures, and deadline to fulfill the programs. Finally, the following disciplines were proposed for development of profession oriented programs: Eatable Mushrooms; Medicinal Mushrooms (Faculty of Bio-technology), Food Processing; Automobile Mechanics (Faculty of Engineering), Water Resources Management (Faculty of Land Management), Animal Science and Veterinary (Faculty of Animal Science and Aquaculture), Information Technology (Faculty of Information Technology), Agricultural Education and Extension (Faculty of Education and Foreign Languages), Resources Management and Environment (Faculty of Environment), Doctor of Plant Health, Herbs (Faculty of Agronomy), and Rural Development (Faculty of Economics and Rural Development).

The faculties are responsible for completing their registrations and proposals on the POHE programs in the coming time. It is strongly believed that Hanoi University of Agriculture would realize the project objectives with great achievements in response to the social demands.
