Facilitating cooperation with the University of Western Australia (UWA)

On 11, May 2015 Dr. Annabel Turner - Director of International Development Programs, the University of Western Australia (UWA) and Associate Professor Steven Schilizzi, School of Agricultural and Resource Economics worked with Vietnam National University of Agriculture (VNUA) to discuss about Summer Program for Australian students at VNUA.

It was proposed that the Summer Program 2015 (SP2015) would be held from 22 Nov 2015 to 5 Dec 2015 with the participation of 10 UWA students. The SP2015 would provide students with knowledge and empirical evidences of agricultural cooperatives and international trade of Vietnam. Other ten students from the Faculty of Economics and Rural Development, VNUA would also join with UWA students to make 10 UWA – VNUA couples. It was expected to be a good opportunity for participating students to know, to learn, to do together and to establish an active network among students.

In the afternoon, the UWA had a meeting with VNUA staff and students to introduce the UWA and guidance on how to apply to the UWA i.e. application profile preparation, how to find the most appropriate faculty, advisor, etc.

End of the meeting, the UWA representative expressed her gratitude to VNUA for organizing such a successful meeting at VNUA. She strongly expected that cooperation in various areas in which the two universities highly concerned would be further extended.
