Warmly receiving the delegation were Assoc. Prof. Dr Nguyen Thi Lan, VNUA Vice President for International Affairs, Assoc. Prof. Dr Vu Van Liet, Director of the Institute of Crops Research and Development and representative leaders of the Faculty of Biotechnology, the Faculty of Food Science and Technology, and  the Office of International Cooperation.

At the meeting, the parties shared general information about staff, training, and research capabilities, achievements, and future directions and interests.

\r\n

 Under a cooperation program between Miyazaki and Nam Dinh, Miyazaki will provide financial support for Nam Dinh to establish a Research Center of Hi-tech Agriculture, and Minami Kyushu University will offer agricultural technical trainings for local staff.

\r\n

For VNUA and Nam Dinh province, the two sides have boosted bilateral cooperation through transferring rice variety copyright and aeroponic technology of potato breeding, and signing an agreement on construction of a Breeding Center for High Quality Pigs.

\r\n

To promote multiple cooperation, Mr. Gunji Yukitoshi, Ms. Lan, and Mr. Hoan all urged an expansion and diversification of cooperation among parties. Particularly, VNUA will assist Nam Dinh in building capacity for local staff focusing on pork meat processing technology, vegetable and fruit preservation and processing technology, mushroom breeding and planting, etc. Minami Kyushu University will provide agricultural hi-tech consultation for Nam Dinh and VNUA.

End of the working visit, Mr. Gunji Yukitosh expressed his sincere thank for a warm welcome by VNUA and affirmed that the parties should quickly realize agreed contents.

The visit has strengthened the cooperation between VNUA and Japanese partners and also the linkage between VNUA and localities in term of technology transfer.
