VNUA has established bilateral collaboration with more than 80 academic institutions. So far, the University has already developed joint training programs with prestigious universities from the United States, the Netherlands, and Belgium, and student and staff exchange programs with universities worldwide, particularly with the ones in the Asian region. Currently, VNUA offers 6 advanced and joint training programs and annually organizes student and staff exchange programs with many foreign universities, for example, internship courses on agriculture with Kyushu University, Tokyo University of Agriculture, Yamagata University, a summer school course with Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (CULS), Czech Republic, etc. Moreover, VNUA has participated in the ASEAN International Mobility for Students (AIMS) Program, a program with the participation of more than 60 ASEAN universities and Japan to create a vibrant student mobility program for citizens in the region. Under the AIMS Program, VNUA has received 10 Indonesian students during 2013-2015. It is strongly expected that more students from VNUA and the AIMS members would benefit from this program.

Since its early days, the University has laid down the combination of training with scientific research and practical services as one of its key development strategies under the motto “Scientific research is vital to the University”. Therefore, the University has gained remarkable achievements in scientific research. All implemented projects have been completed successfully and produced remarkable outcomes. Technology transfer, publication and information dissemination have been exclusively considered to be priorities of the University. During 2013 – 2014, 112 articles were published on the international peer reviewed ISI/SCI ranked journals; 100 lecturers and students awarded notable recognitions both nationally and internationally; 2 advanced technologies, 1 utility solution, and 6 rice varieties recognized; property rights of 3 products transferred.

These achievements in education and scientific research of VNUA have been highly recognized.  VNUA was ranked the 12th among 120 universities and colleges in Vietnam, the 154th in the ASEAN region by the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities, an initiative of the Cybermetrics Lab, a research group belonging to the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), the largest public research body in Spain. The improvement of VNUA’s position and reputation in the country and the region is a crucial step for VNUA’s integration into high quality education system in the region and the world.
