ÐH11 rice variety was tested in many regions of Vietnam. Results showed that it well adapted to many different ecological conditions in many provicnes of Vietnam such as Hung Yen, Ha Noi, Hai Duong, Hai Phong, Ninh Binh, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Thanh Hoa, and Nghe An with strong growth and good quality and yield. The growth period of ÐH11 in the spring season was about 125-128 days; in summer season about 105-115 days. The average plant height ranged from 90 to 100 cm. It had a good resistance to the cold, and pathogens (eg.Fungus Rhizoctonia solani, Pyricularia oryzae). The yield reached from 5.8 to 6.5 ton/ha (summer season) and 6.5 to 7.5 ton/ha of (spring season).

BT7KBL, a leaf blight resistant rice variety, was bred by backcross method (Bac thom No7/IRBB21) followed by pedigree selection. BT7KBL is highly resistant to race 3 and 5 of bacterial leaf blight and moderately resistant to race 14. It has agronomic characteristics similar to Bac thon No 7 (BT7), short growth duration (130-135 days in spring season, 103 – 105 day in summer season), average yield 5.0 – 5.5 tons per hectare, and good quality. BT7KBL is suitable for late spring and early summer season in the northern provinces of Vietnam. BT7KBL was accepted by MARD for expansion in Northern provinces.
