Setting up the Agro-Ecology Laboratory for Master of Agro-Ecology

The project “Curriculum Development in Agroecology” (CDEA) has implemented since 2020 under the support of Eramus+ Programs. The consortium includes Hue University (HUE), Vietnam National University of Agriculture (VNUA) from Vietnam, Benguet State University (BSU) and Central Luzon State University (CLSU) from the Phillipines, Universitates Rajarata (UR) and University of Peradeniya (UOP) from Sri Lanka, Mendelova Univerzita V Brno (MENDELU) and Instituto Politecnico De Coimbra (IPC) from Czech, and Novel Group Sarl (Novel) from Luxembourg.

Within the framework of the project, VNUA has been developing the master in Agroecology and the enrollment for program expects to start from June 2023.

The Master in Agroecology has total 60 credits with a training period of 2 years, developed based on the training framework and consultation of the European partners. Besides the lecturers of VNUA, experts from Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the Institute of Agro-Environment, the Institute of Soil and Agrochemistry are invited to deliver lectures and supervise students for thesis completion.

In order to improve the quality of training, practice and research on agro-ecology, VNUA has been supported by the CDAE Project to purchase a number of equipment such as drones, intensity meters. lighting, multi-parameter meter, computer, etc and an Agro-Ecology Lab has successively been set up.

Along with the existing modern equipment of the Faculty of Natural Resources and Environment and the enhancement of some equipment for the Agro-Ecology Laboratory within the framework of the CDAE Project, the training quality of the Faculty of Natural Resources and Environment will certainly be improved, meeting the training needs on sustainable agricultural development, climate change adaptation as well as requirements from employers.
