Signing of Memorandum of Understanding with the Institute of International Agriculture Cooperation - University of Dankook

The Institute of International Agriculture Cooperation of University of Dankook - Korea (DICA DKU) and Vietnam National University of Agriculture (VNUA) organized a MoU signing ceremony on the morning of 27th January, 2016. Attendees of the signing ceremony from DICA DKU included Mr. Lee Dong Jin, Director of DICA, and various staff and fellows from the institute. VNUA was represented by Vice-President Nguyen Xuan Trach, who chaired the event, and members of the Institute of Biotechnology and International Cooperation Office.The memorandum that was signed, following the success of research cooperation between the Institute of Biotechnology - VNUA and DICA DKU, confirmed new development of cooperative relations between the two universities. The memorandum is a stable basis for the two sides to reach specific and long-term cooperation goals in order to enhance the training and research capacities of staff and students at VNUA.

On this occasion, VNUA and DICA DKU introduced and shared general information about their historical development, organizational structure, and training programs, as well as achievements in education and research. Based on the research collaboration established earlier, the two sides will strengthen cooperative exchanges more extensively in both training and research. The two sides will also develop joint research programs within the funding framework of KOICA and the FIRST program of the World Bank.

Through specific cooperation programs and projects, VNUA and DICA DKU hope to exploit and use sustainably the opportunities and resources available to contribute to enhancing high quality human resources in agriculture, and integrate internationally for thedevelopment of agricultural and ruralareas in Vietnam.
