Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kim Van Van, Head of Faculty of Fisheries, Vietnam National University of Agriculture has been honored as "The Scientist of Farmers" for his applied research projects and transfer of scientific and technological advancements into agricultural production.

On the morning of October 3rd, Vietnam Farmers’ Association in collaboration with various ministries and sectors organized the 5th Honor Ceremony for "The Scientist of Farmers" and presented the awards for winners of the 10th Technical Innovation for Farmers 2024 at the same time. The Honor Ceremony aims to recognize the outstanding contributions of scientists and farmers to inspire pride in Vietnamese intellect, the spirit of creative labor, as well as to promote the movement of research, innovation, and the application of scientific and technological advancements in agricultural production, contributing to the development of the rural economy.

At the ceremony, numerous research projects, innovative solutions, and advanced technological products from scientists and farmers have been recognized for their positive contributions to the agricultural sector. Many farmers have independently created improvements in production processes and useful equipment, playing a significant role in enhancing the productivity and quality of agriculture, forestry, and fishery. Through a harsh review process by provincial councils, ministries, and the Central Evaluation Council, 56 outstanding individuals were selected to be honored this year.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kim Van Van, is honored to be one of the outstanding individuals recognized with the title "Scientist of the Farmer for his applied scientific research in agricultural production, particularly in technologies for farming black carp in ponds and cages, as well as the technology for breeding and farming soft-shelled turtles. These projects have played an important role in transferring scientific and technical advancements to farmers, enhancing production efficiency.
