For the first time, Vietnam National University of Agriculture (VNUA) has been included in the 2026 QS World University Rankings, one of the most prestigious global university ranking systems. This achievement represented a significant milestone in the university’s ongoing process of internationalization, while also affirming the quality of its education and research, particularly in the field of agriculture, which constituted its core academic strength.
According to the results announced on March 25, 2026, a total of 13 Vietnamese higher education institutions were ranked by subject, among which VNUA was one of the four institutions making their inaugural appearance in the rankings.
Notably, VNUA was ranked in the field of Agriculture & Forestry within the 301–350 band globally, representing a highly positive outcome for its first participation in this prestigious ranking system.
The QS rankings were based on multiple indicators, including academic reputation, employer reputation, research productivity, and the degree of internationalization. Inclusion in the QS World University Rankings by subject not only reflected the quality of education but also demonstrated the University’s research capacity and contributions to the agricultural sector, one of the key pillars of Vietnam’s economy. This achievement was particularly noteworthy given that this was VNUA’s inaugural participation in the rankings. It further indicated that VNUA’s research performance, teaching quality, and academic influence were progressively aligning with international standards.
Over the years, VNUA had continuously enhanced the quality of its teaching, promoted international publications, strengthened global partnerships, and advanced the application of science and technology in agricultural production. These efforts provided a solid foundation for this significant breakthrough.
Being included in the QS rankings presented the university with important opportunities, such as enhancing its international academic reputation, attracting high-quality students and faculty, and expanding research collaboration and technology transfer.
VNUA’s first recognition in the 2026 QS World University Rankings by Subject was not only a source of pride but also a strong motivation for the university to continue innovating and improving the quality of its education and research, with the aim of becoming a leading university in the region in the fields of agriculture and sustainable development.
