Integrating with international training trends to expand career opportunities is an important approach of training programs at the Faculty of Accounting and Business Management, Vietnam National University of Agriculture (VNUA). Based on this orientation, on the morning of February 22, 2023, Prof. Dr. Pham Bao Duong, VNUA’s Vice President attended the signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in implementing the Certificate in International Financial Reporting Standards (CertlFR) between three units, Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Vietnam Association of Certified Public Accountants (VACPA) and Vietnam National University of Agriculture (VNUA).

CertIFR provides training and provides a solid foundation on how to prepare international financial statements, IFRS international financial reporting standards issued by the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) (introduction information about CertIFR). Currently, IFRS is being applied almost entirely in more than 100 countries worldwide, including some countries in Southeast Asia. When obtaining the CertIFR, students majoring in accounting, auditing and finance will enhance their competitive advantage in applying for jobs upon graduation; creating an image of an expertise employee with good promotion capacity at work.

According to the MOU, ACCA, VACPA and VNUA would have coordinated activities to provide documents and CertIFFR exam accounts for learners at VNUA; ACCA and VACPA provide teaching materials and training programs for VNUA instructors to support teachers in teaching and preparing for the CertIFR certification exam for learners in need. These activities demonstrate the commitment and efforts of the parties towards the benefits of current learning and future professional practice of students majoring in accounting, accounting-auditing, and finance at VNUA. At the same time, they are also important to support the implementation of the roadmap to apply IFRS in Vietnam, help the accounting, auditing and finance professions in Vietnam to develop and integrate, and contribute to support the growth of the capital market towards a more prosperous Vietnam.
