VNUA Students took part in the 36th Future Farmers of Thailand

From 08 to 15 February 2015, 3 students and one official at the International Cooperation Office, Vietnam National University of Agriculture (VNUA) took part in the 36th Future Farmers of Thailand (the 36th FFT), an annual vocational education program in agricultural science for Thailand students under the HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn – Thailand’s Royal Patronage. The 36th FFT also drew participation of students from many other countries in the Asian region including China, Japan, South Korea, Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia, and Vietnam. The 36th FFT was honored to receive HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn on the Opening Ceremony.

In addition to agricultural demonstration models (fruits, plants, flowers), the 36th FFT organized skill competitions namely Career Demonstration, Floral Arrangement, Seminar for Vocational Agricultural Project, Landscape Gardening, Tray Gardening and National Art and Cultural Performance.

VNUA students competed in 4 out of 6 above mentioned competitions. VNUA students were highly valued for their concepts, and presentation skill in all competitions they took part in. They were ranked the second among 20 teams and awarded the Silver Medal in the Career Demonstration.

International students also had chances to join cultural exchange events and excursions to several attractive places in Tax province, Thailand. VNUA students well showed their communication skills, English competence, and integration into an international exchange environment.

The 36th FFT provided students with opportunities to not only expose and improve communication and presentation skills but also create a network among students from agricultural universities/colleges in the region.
