On September 28, 2023, Prof. Shuji Shimizu, Vice President of Kyushu University, Japan visited and worked at Vietnam National University of Agriculture (VNUA) with the aim of exchanging opportunities for cooperation in training and scientific research.

 

Overview of the program

Attending the program were Prof. Dr. Pham Van Cuong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, VNUA’s Vice President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Minh Hien, Dean of Faculty of Economics and Rural Development, VNUA; Prof. Shuji Shimizu, Vice President of Kyushu University, Japan; members of the delegation from Kyushu University, Japan; and leaders of VNUA’s faculties and departments and alumni of Kyushu University currently working at VNUA.

Speaking at the program, Prof. Dr. Pham Van Cuong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, VNUA’s Vice President, expressed his joy when welcoming Prof. Shuji Shimizu, Vice President of Kyushu University, Japan, said that VNUA would like to thank Prof. Shuji Shimizu for his close attention to VNUA. Currently, VNUA had a strong cooperation with Kyushu University through many of VNUA’s lecturers who had studied at Kyushu University. In addition, VNUA also received support from Kyushu University in teaching, scientific research, and useful library documents for lecturers and students. Prof. Dr. Pham Van Cuong hoped that in the coming time, the two universities would continue to cooperate more deeply in training, scientific research, and student exchange between the two universities.

Prof. Shuji Shimizu, Vice President of Kyushu University, Japan thanked the thoughtful and warm welcome from VNUA and Prof. Dr. Pham Van Cuong, VNUA’s Vice President, and the alumni of Kyushu University currently working at VNUA. Through the program, Prof. Shuji Shimizu also hoped that VNUA would create favorable conditions, together with Kyushu University, to coordinate more closely in research cooperation, staff and student exchange and other forms of training and scientific cooperation between the two universities. Prof. Shuji Shimizu hoped that Kyushu University would continue to receive more VNUA’s students and staff to study, research and work at Kyushu University.

Also at the program, the two sides discussed and agreed to continue to cooperate closely in training, scientific research as well as shared the programs and projects that the two sides could cooperate with each other. VNUA also hoped to receive support from Prof. Shuji Shimizu and Kyushu University so that VNUA’s excellent staff, lecturers and students would have the opportunity to practice, do internship and research at Kyushu University in the future.
