On the afternoon of February 15, 2023, Vietnam National University of Agriculture (VNUA) welcomed the delegation of the Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Chungnam National University, Korea, led by Prof. Dr. Jun Heon Lee, Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences to work and establish unit-level cooperation with the VNUA’s faculties and departments.

At the meeting, the representatives of the two sides presented an overview VNUA and Chungnam National University as well as the highlights of the Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences, and information about attractive scholarship programs that Chungnam National University offered to the staff and students of the university.

With the relationship that has been built and cultivated over the years, and the desire to expand the connection and cooperation through specific activities between the Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Chungnam National University, and  faculties and departments of VNUA, the two sides expressed their belief that this cooperative relationship would become more and more sustainable, contributing to cultural development, scientific progress and strengthening the friendly relationship between the two countries and the two sides.

On this occasion, the delegation of the Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Chungnam National University divided itself into different groups to exchange and discuss directly at the workplaces of the Faculty of Natural Resources and Environment, Faculty of Agronomy, Faculty of Biotechnology, Faculty of Animal Science, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Economics and Rural Development. At the Faculty of Animal Science, the two sides held a joint seminar on the recent improvement of quality standards in Korean native pig production, an academic exchange aimed at strengthening research cooperation between the two faculties with long term partnerships. This visit of the delegation also initially marked the expansion and establishment of unit-level cooperation of the Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Chungnam National University with other equivalent faculties/departments apart from the Faculty of Animal Science of the university.

The meeting ended successfully, opening the opportunity to implement many cooperation programs with potentially meaningful results for VNUA and the Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Chungnam National University, Korea.

Chungnam National University (CNU) was established in 1952 as one of the top 10 universities in Korea, the leading university in the university system in the southern region of Korea. According to the assessment results from Times Higher Education, CNU has the following rankings:

- Ranked 1201-1500th in the 2023 World University Rankings.

- Ranked 101-200th in the 2022 Impact Ranking.

- Ranked 351-400th in the 2022 Asia University Rankings.

Currently, Chungnam National University is cooperating with nearly 300 units from 50 countries, teaching and granting dual degrees with 18 universities from 4 countries. Every year, more than 600 students participate in study abroad programs. As the host of the Korean Government's scholarship fund for students, international students who come to study at CNU will be paid all or part of their study costs. In addition, international students are also supported by the university to attend free intensive Korean language courses.
