Dr. Dong Huy Gioi, vice dean, briefly introduced the faculty of biotechnology and the  educational program in edible and medicinal mushrooms that is part of the biotechnology major under the professional oriented higher education (POHE) program. After that, Ms. Nguyen Thi Vang, vice-director of Hanam Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ms. Duong Thi Thu Hue, director of KINOKO Import and Export Company, Mr. Pham Quang Nhue, director of Long Hai Company, Mr. Nguyen Danh Thang, director of Bac Giang Mushroom Varieties, and Mr. Nguyen Quy Vu, director of Moc Mien Mushroom Farm, discussed the fields of edible and medicinal mushrooms. These discussions highlighted the value of the edible and medicinal mushrooms educational program in the biotechnology major under the professional oriented higher education (POHE) program at the University. At the same time, they pointed out advantages and difficulties, and numerous solutions in the fields of production, processing, and consuming edible and medicinal mushrooms in our country, in general, and in some localities, in particular. The practical knowledge gained at this workshop allowed students to have a more realistic perspective on the profession, which in turn provided them with direction to equip necessary knowledge and skills for their future careers.

At the workshop, student Vu Thi Nhu Hoa, K60 CNSHP class, on behalf of all students in the faculty of biotechnology, stated her thoughts and aspirations about studying as well as the opportunities to get a job after graduation.

The workshop featured discussions about several issues related to educational programs and recruiting students for the major of biotechnology in edible and medicinal mushrooms, and 7 MoUs were signed between the University and Long Hai Limited Company, Bac Giang Department of Horticulture and Plant Protection, KINOKO Import and Export Company, Dekalb Vietnam Limited Company, Moc Mien Mushrooms Farm, Vietnam Commercial Limited Company, and Huong Nam Mushroom Company. At the end of the workshop, the representatives visited the biotechnology facilities for education, research, and development of edible and medicinal mushrooms.
