Highlights of Summer School 2017

Under framework of a training cooperation program between VNUA and the University of Life Sciences Prague (CULS), Czech Republic, the Summer School 2017 was held for three weeks from August 14, 2017 to September 1, 2017 by the International Cooperation Office with the participation of 20 CULS students.
Under framework of a training cooperation program between VNUA and the University of Life Sciences Prague (CULS), Czech Republic, the Summer School 2017 was held for three weeks from August 14, 2017 to September 1, 2017 by the International Cooperation Office with the participation of 20 CULS students.
The course was conducted in English by VNUA’s experienced and enthusiastic lecturers from Faculties of Political and Social Sciences, Agronomy, Environment, and Economics and Rural Development. Participating in the course, the students were provided with an overview of Vietnam agriculture with particular focus on the Red River Delta region. They further learnt about culture, cuisine, and rural living of regions across the country. They also fully enjoyed study tours to famous cultural destinations and handicraft villages in the Northern Vietnam such as the Temple of Literature, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Bat Trang pottery village in Hanoi, Sapa in Lao Cai province, and Halong Bay in Quang Ninh province. Cooking typical Vietnamese foods such as spring roll, pho, bun cha, and playing traditional games with VNUA students really made participants delighted and eager to join. Particularly, CULS students were offered an interesting section about Vietnamese.

The success of course is subjected to strong support and attention of VNUA leaders as well as leaders of the International Cooperation Office of the CULS and professional organization and dedication of involved staff and lecturers.

The course was highly valued by all participants. About 95% of students evaluated the course with the highest level of satisfaction in regards of program organization, structure, and content. They wished they would have had more time to learn Vietnamese so that they could have actively communicated with Vietnamese and understood more about Vietnam.
Cultural exchange with international students at VNUA
Having obtained remarkable achievements in the last 7 years, VNUA's Summer School is expected to expand and attract more students from other countries.
