In celebration of Vietnam Science and Technology Day (May 18) and VNUA’s Science and Technology Month 2025, on the afternoon of May 14, 2025, at the International Conference Hall, Vietnam National University of Agriculture (VNUA), the Faculty of Information Technology held a Conference entitled "Information Technology Education in the Context of Promoting AI Applications and Sustainable Development". The Conference aimed to create a bridge between students and businesses to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and practical experience, as well as to help students gain insights into career prospects and future orientations.
The Conference was attended by representatives from businesses and companies collaborating with the Faculty of Information Technology (VNUA), along with faculty lecturers and students.
Speaking at the Conference, Dr. Pham Quang Dung, Acting Vice Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology, emphasized the importance of promoting scientific research, innovation, and digital transformation in alignment with the Central Party Resolution No. 57. He highlighted the need to build a learning ecosystem that integrated both theory and practice, and stressed the critical role of collaboration between educational institutions and businesses in creating a high-quality workforce capable of quickly adapting to changes in the labor market amidst the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Dr. Pham Quang Dung also emphasized that, in order to meet sustainable development goals, the Information Technology sector had to focus on training new skills, foster creative thinking, and develop applied research capabilities, contributing to the construction of a strong digital economy for the country. In the context of increasing global integration and the rapid pace of technological advancement, the Information Technology (IT) sector plays a central role in driving digital transformation, enhancing national competitiveness, and moving toward sustainable development. The Conference "Information Technology Education in the Context of Promoting AI Applications and Sustainable Development" served as a vital forum that brought together researchers, businesses, lecturers, and students to discuss emerging trends, appropriate training strategies, and technological application solutions to meet the demands of the digital age.

The program began with the presentations from a number of companies in the field of information technology. Experts shared up-to-date knowledge on emerging technology trends, particularly in artificial intelligence (AI), digital transformation, and innovative software solutions.
Mr. Pham Viet Quy, a representative from 1C Vietnam, introduced the 1C:Enterprise software platform, a modern management system suitable for various sectors such as manufacturing, commerce, and services. The platform helps optimize business operations, reduce operating costs, and promote sustainable development. He emphasized that these technological platforms were not only tools for supporting businesses but also opportunities for IT students to gain exposure to practical solutions, develop programming skills, system administration, and big data analysis, thereby expanding their future career prospects.

Continuing the program, M.Sc.Vu The Anh, Vice President of the EPC Digital Platform Trade Promotion Club, delivered an in-depth analysis of the role of AI in the global digital transformation process. With the title “AI, not just a technology but a driving force for business development in the new era”, he emphasized that artificial intelligence had become an indispensable tool for businesses to optimize processes, enhance customer experience, and foster innovation. He also highlighted the importance of continuously updating knowledge, developing practical skills, and cultivating creative thinking among IT students to master advanced technologies like AI, thereby contributing to the sustainable growth of the national economy. His insights offered a clearer picture of AI’s potential to create breakthroughs across industries and services, while also underscoring the pressing demands on the current education and training practices.

In addition to the presentations, the Conference also served as a platform for students to showcase their creativity through research activities and real-world projects. Nguyen Phuong Nam, a student from class K66CNPMB, shared his internship experience at 1C Vietnam and proudly talked about his achievement of reaching the final round of an international programming competition in Moscow, Russia, where he secured third place nationally. These experiences not only highlighted the quality of training provided by the Faculty of Information Technology, VNUA, but also demonstrated the global integration capabilities of Vietnamese students when equipped with solid theoretical knowledge, strong practical skills, and a proactive mindset.

In addition, student scientific research activities had become increasingly vibrant, as reflected in a range of projects with high practical value. A student group consisting of Nguyen Phuong Nam, Truong Tuan Hoang, Pham Xuan Phong, and Ha Thi Duong Thanh presented their project entitled "Developing a Website to Support Students of Vietnam National University of Agriculture" with the aims of enhancing information management, fostering connectivity, and serving the academic community. Although still in the development phase, the group’s innovative ideas and technological application capabilities received positive feedback, helping to raise students’ awareness of research and innovation while igniting a passion for contributing to the community.
The Conference "Information Technology Education in the Context of Promoting AI Applications and Sustainable Development", organized by the Faculty of Information Technology, VNUA, concluded successfully. It not only provided a platform for stakeholders to meet and exchange knowledge but also served as an important stepping stone to strengthen cooperation between organizations, businesses, and educational institutions. This contributed to guiding the sustainable development of the IT sector, ensuring adaptability to international trends, and building a green digital economy that is environmentally friendly, ultimately supporting the country’s long-term development goals in the new era.
