Within the framework of cooperation between Vietnam National University of Agriculture (VNUA) and Chonnam National University, South Korea, the program “Promoting Learning and Working Opportunities in Korea” was organized at Chonnam National University. Participants in the exchange program included representatives from the Faculty of Biotechnology, the Faculty of Food Technology, and the Faculty of Agronomy, VNUA.

To prepare for the one-month experiential trip in Korea, the participants were provided with basic Korean language lessons over two months, taught directly by project specialists.

At Chonnam National University, many activities were organized to help the interns get familiar with the environment in Korea. First, the participants had the opportunity to meet professors working in the Department of Molecular Biotechnology, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Chonnam National University. Through these meetings, they received research orientation and guidance from the laboratories where they would experience working for two weeks. Afterwards, the delegation listened to sharing from VNUA alumni currently studying at Chonnam National University about student life which provided them with useful experiences for preparing their own study-abroad applications.

Together with various laboratory activities, the interns also attended a course on organic agricultural product certification. This was a wonderful opportunity for them to enhance their professional knowledge as well as raise awareness about practicing organic agriculture in Vietnam. At the end of the course, they directly participated in activities at organic agricultural product certification companies in Korea. Working directly at these companies left a deep impression on each participant, as it was a valuable opportunity for them to apply what they had learned in practice and observe actual production, thereby helping them become more confident about future career opportunities.

In addition to professional activities, during their one-month stay in Korea, the VNUA representatives also enjoyed the opportunities to explore the history, cultural identity, and traditions of Korea, the beautiful country renowned for tourism, through extracurricular trips to renowned sites and by tasting traditional dishes of Gwangju Province.

At the end of the trip, the participants attained many outcomes such as improving their practical skills, accessing advanced global technologies, and gaining insights into trends and career opportunities. The exchange program served as an important bridge, helping students establish connections with professors, laboratories, and companies in related fields, opening up their opportunities for further study and career development in Korea after graduation.
