The participating students had a very practical and proactive course. They were provided with an overview of Vietnam Agriculture with particular focus on the Red River Delta region. They further learnt about Vietnamese Culture, Cuisine, and Rural Living, etc. They fully enjoyed study tours to famous cultural destinations and handicraft villages in the Northern part of Vietnam such as the Temple of Literature in Hanoi, Bái Ðính Temple, Spiritual and Cultural Complex and Cuc Phuong National Park in Ninh Binh province, Phung Cong ornamental tree village in Hung Yen province, Van Phuc Silk Village in Ha Dong Hanoi, Ngoc Dong bamboo and rattan village in Ha Nam province. They learnt and cooked typical Vietnamese foods such as spring roll, bánh trôi – bánh chay (balls made from mung bean paste wrapped in a shell made of glutinous rice flour), and joined student exchange events with VNUA students, especially a special and beautiful event called Moon Festival.

The course was highly valued by all participants. About 80% of students evaluated the course with the highest level of satisfaction in regards of program organization, structure, and content. They wished they would have had more time to learn Vietnamese so that they could have actively communicated with Vietnamese and understood more about Vietnam. It is worthy noted that two more Vietnamese food cooking sessions added in the program did receive students’ delightfulness.
