From November 26 to December 7, 2018, the Office of International Cooperation in collaboration with the Faculty of Economics and Rural Development of Vietnam National University of Agriculture (VNUA) and the University of Western Australia (UWA) organized a joint course on “Agribusiness and international trade in Vietnam” for 18 students of UWA, Australia and 25 students of the Faculty of Economics and Rural Development (VNUA), Vietnam.

This year is the 4th consecutive year that VNUA organized the joint course for UWA students to study at VNUA. This course was taught by lecturers from School of Agriculture and Environment (UWA) and the Faculty of Economics and Rural Development (VNUA). Joining in this course, VNUA students, who are studying advanced agricultural economics (a program taught in English), will receive credits recognized for vocational training course at VNUA.

During two weeks of this course, the students of both universities were provided with knowledge on the organizational structure and the ways to operate the various cooperative models in Vietnam through field trips in Chuc Son safe vegetable cooperative, Chuong My district and Luong Son organic vegetable cooperative, Hoa Binh province.

Besides, UWA students also had amazing chances to experience Vietnamese culture and cuisine such as exploring Hanoi Old Quarter, visiting Ha Long Bay, participating in folk games and learning Vietnamese language with VNUA students.

With remarkable achievements in the past 4 years, the UWA and VNUA joint course on Agribusiness and international trade in Vietnam has become a venue for VNUA students to exchange with international students. Thus, the quality of training in VNUA will be improved and enhanced through international study environment.
